We just chanced upon Segara while wandering through Discovery Mall in Kuta ( the restaurant is among a bunch of smaller places behind the mall, overlooking the water)...decided to try it because it was the one with the biggest choice of local cuisine, which we wanted to try for lunch.
Location - it looks over the water, and with an option of either regular table seating or couches looking directly out. It's open on 3 sides so very breezy !
Food - Hubby ordered a local Indonesian dish ( forget the name :( ) which was basically fried chicken in a spicy sauce, with rice and sambal...superb ! I ordered the vegetarian curry which was very avg. Price is higher than quite a few smaller places but i guess u pay for the location !
Service - our only issue was with the slowwwww service. No one bothered to seat us , took ages to come for the order despite hardly any tables being occuied when we arrived...and then promptly returned after 10 mins to tell us he had forgotten what we ordered ! :O
Would recommend this place if you are in the mall area and looking for a local food lunch with a view...else not sure if it's worth travelling for.
Note - Segara and Segara Asian grill are different....next to each other, but the grill is open in the evenings only.
