We enjoyed a lovely meal in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere at the Garis Garis Restaurant in Kuta. The Manager was very accomodating and we enjoyed chatting with him.
Hubby ordered Sate for entree (which were a Soya based Sate - not the usual Peanut style ones), for main meal he ordered Teriyaki Chicken. I ordered Shrimp cocktail for entree and for mains I had Squid Rica Rica (which was tender braised squid cones in a spicy chilli, garlic, lemongrass and Lemon Basil sauce). We both really enjoyed our meals. Hubby asked if the chef was Japanese as his Teriyaki meal was the most authentic Japanese tasting dish he'd ever had. But no the chef was most definitely Balinese (who obviously cooks with passion and is very good at what he does).
I have a relatives travelling to Bali in the next few weeks and I have recommended they MUST have a meal at the Garis Garis.
