“Away from the heat!”
Reviewed March 20, 2014

Most Bali stores and restaurants are crowded and very hot (without aircon), so I searched for a place to cool down and find this mall fronting the beach. The mall is not too big compared to Philippine malls but it is a refreshing place to do a little shopping and dining.

“Discovery Shopping Mall”
Reviewed March 19, 2014

Excellent for shopping but definitely more expensive than if you hit the market areas of Kuta. I liked the Mall because I wasn't harassed by hagglers (I know, they have to make a living too) but I found my young children seemed comfortable in there as opposed to walking through the market areas being tugged on by strange Vendors trying to pull them into their shops.

“Typical mall”
Reviewed March 12, 2014

Discovery mall was not as big as we expected. It has 3-4 storeys of branded shops and a Sogo outlets. The upside of shopping here is that you don't have to negotiate and hassle by traders. However, on our last day in Bali we ran into Beach Walk mall along kuta beach and really like that place. Unlike Discovery, Beach walk has more eateries and has better atmosphere.

“Some great shops in here and nice to cool down”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

No shopping hassles in here - prices generally 'as is' what you see is what you pay! Nice if you can't handle the stress of bartering. A great place to cool down off the street away from the humidity (but you do have to go back out). The gourmet shop in the middle of the mall is a great place to buy some good snacks and Aussie or French wines to take back to your hotel.

“Interesting mall facing the beach, almost everything available here”
Reviewed March 11, 2014

For me, if you only choose to go to one shopping mall in Bali, this is the place to go.

It sells almost everything from real to imitation stuff, from confectionaries (eg Breadtalk) to coffee (for eg Starbucks) and what I like the most - it has a large section at the centre of the mall selling souvenirs and handicrafts. The brand is Bamboo. Some of the items sold there is different from what you find in Krisha.

For example, they have more intricately designed keychains that is not found at Krishna. The catch is that the souvenirs here are pricier compared to Krishna. But generally if you are looking for something more special to buy for friends and relatives, here is the place to go.

Also one side of the mall opens up to the beach with wide stairs leading to it. Kinda special. Definitely a good place for some photo memories.

The only downside is that it is smacked right in the middle of Kuta (opposite Waterbom) so you will have to go through some traffic jams (if you travel in taxi) before you reach there.

But overall, still a nice mall to check out.
