We stayed at the Aston for only 1 night as we needed to be next door to the Rama Beach Resort as we were staying there for the next 7 days with our friends & our Villa was fully booked for that one night. It was clean modern hotel with four walls and no window in our room...we were happy to leave and walk a few metres past the Risata to the Rama Beach Resort for our next leg of our holiday in Bali. The breakfast was good, the security was great and the best part for the Aston was the kids club we used it for a few hours while we tackled the shops and beach with-out the kids just so we could get a feel for what we were in for. We didnt swim in the pool and the rood top bar was closed for construction, it was a good business hotel it was like I was staying in a hotel in Melbourne.

Room Tip: If you want to stay in a hotel then this is the place as it is not a resort

My stay at Aston Kuta Hotel and Residence with my family was a pleasant and satisfying one. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the friendly hotel staff at the lobby who offered us face towels while they prepared our rooms. Sadly, the rooftop bar was under renovation during our stay. We were looking forward to having a few drinks there after reading reviews that raved about it.

The rooms were comfortable, spacious, clean and had a modern look. We did not utilize all the hotel facilities but did check out the gym. It was modest in size, had a few machines, exercise balls and a tv if I recall correctly. We managed to use the hotel pool too, which is located at the other end of the hotel restaurant. The pool was large enough, and all the rooms on the first floor has convenient access to the pool. The pool bar was having some offer and the drinks were a delight during ]the sweltering afternoon. Oh, and the lifts smell fresh always.

The breakfast however fell below expectations. The variety was decent but some of the dishes were bland or poorly cooked. The eggs counter is a safe bet but do remember to ask for no salt if you do not want your eggs to be drowned in salt. They had a dessert pancake/crepe corner too which was okay. The usual restaurant food we had (ordered from the menu) was much better than the breakfast though. I must say the staff at the restaurant were a delight despite the breakfast spread. Another small warning would be that the lobby and the half of the restaurant that is nearer the lobby are both smoking areas. Only the other half of the restaurant facing the pool is non-smoking.

The location of the hotel is a little further from the city area, but still well within walking distance. Upon walking out of the hotel, you have to turn left and walk out till you reach a roundabout, of which you turn left again and continue walking downwards. More shops and restaurants will come into view after about 15 mins of total walking time. If you just keep walking down you will reach the shopping mall with more food/fast food/clothing stores etc. Walk even further down and you will reach Kuta Beach (total about 30 mins of walking), with its wonderful waves. The food court is near Kuta Beach. Personally I did not mind the walk since the weather in Bali was fantastic during our stay there (air-con temperature with breeze, just sunnier in the afternoon). The taxis (If i'm not wrong, the taxis with the bluebird sign HAVE to charge the meter fare) are very affordable too. Turning right after you walk out of the hotel will bring you to another beach, but the sand is like gray and dirty. I suggest taking the long walk or taking a cab to Kuta Beach.

One other point to take note of would be that the hotel has free wifi on the first level (it gets weaker as you go towards the pool) and you will have to pay if you want wifi in the room. The purchased wifi can only be used by a single device and the signal is very poor. Websites took forever to load. I would suggest using the internet at the lobby at restaurant.

Overall, I have to say that my family and I had a very enjoyable time at Aston Kuta. The service was consistently wonderful during our entire stay there, from the restaurant staff to those at the lobby to the room service staff. Aside from the breakfast and the wifi, everything else was great, and definitely made our pennies worth.

The hotel location is not premier. We need to take a walk to the nearest beach.
The Reception and bellboy looked after the check in process in efficient way.
We got a very nice room, small pantry and separated living room and bedroom.

The buffet breakfast was average in term of quality and taste. Coffee was not good.
The pool was suitable for adults and limited for children.
If you only need and concern about the room, this hotel could be a great choice.

Stayed for 7 nights at the Aston and enjoyed our stay. On arrival the check in was well managed. We got showed to our room which we did not like as it was too close to the restaurant on ground level facing the pool. The staff were more than happy to show alternatives which of one we accepted. Breakfast was good with lots of choice. We are used to staying in smaller boutique style hotels so the size of this hotel is out of the norm for us regardless the staff made us feel comfortable but next time I think we will stick to smaller.

Enjoyed our stay at the Aston Kuta hotel as a whole. If you look past the minor blemishes, which I'm sure you'd come across irrespective of your hotel choice in Bali, the Aston Kuta represented great bang for your buck. Having the 'Family Room 661' located centrally on the sixth floor over looking the pool we were far from any street noise, and the offset location from the main strip of Kuta was a prime location for us. As per the bacon issue: just ask for PORK Bacon, the reason it isn't on display is for religious preferences of some individuals, which is fine and also meant that the bacon came out fresh and warm - bonus after a big night out.

Room Tip: Sixth floor, and get a pool view

9 nights at the Aston Kuta Hotel & Residence once more was more than pleasurable. The service provided by the staff was exceptional yet again and the buffet breakfast was simply to die for. Sleep was never a problem as there is no rowdy here, this is paramount to us, particularly in Bali. The pool might not be everyones ideal as its above ground however it still accommodates a pool bar and is clean. Within walking distance to the hustle & bustle of Kuta but far enough away to be peaceful and relaxing without the onslaught of hagglers. The beach is minutes away where a quiet little bar awaits, Bintang only here, however you can bring drinks for the girls and use there fridge. No hagglers here either. There is a money changer next to the exit driveway of the Hotel where the rates equal anything in Kuta. This little shop also has Bintang etc for sale at a price equal to the best anywhere in Kuta. Thanks to all, we'll be back.

Room Tip: Our room was a Deluxe and proved adequate for us. We cannot judge the Spa as we didn't use the f...

We stayed the at Aston for 10 nights and had the time of our lives!

Our Room:
We had a Family room, our was located on the 6th floor of the Hotel, and it overlooked the Pool area etc. as you can see from our pictures. The beds were massive, and so comfortable we had no issues with sleeping, and our bedding was changed everyday so we always had fresh sheets whenever we fell into bed.
We couldn't have asked for a better room, the only criticism I had on the room was that the bathroom was a little tried. There was some damage on our mirror and our toilet paper holder was broke, but they did fix that issue right away. But as far as we were concerned that was a minor detail for us. (Will upload photos of our Room later.)

Food & Drinks:
The breakfast buffet has a very wide range of food, and all of it tasted amazing. We found that if we had a big breakfast at the Hotel, most days didn't need to buy lunch for the day. Also it starts nice and early (6:30 am) so if you have a day trip you can have some Breakfast before you leave and it goes quite late (10:30 am) which was good if you had a big night before.
Our first night we stayed in at the Hotel and had a Balinese Buffet dinner at the dinner they have a performance with Traditional Balinese music and Dancers, they gave the Audience a chance to come up and dance with the Dancers and also let everyone have a photo with the beautiful girls at the end of their performances. It was a great experience and it was a good way for use to start the holiday.
Beers were cheap, cocktails were on the little expensive side, but they did have Happy hour and the cocktails were AUD $5 which is still so much cheaper then home, so we were more then happy with paying that.

The Staff:
The staff were amazing and very helpful our whole stay, we made some great friends at this Hotel and we will defiantly come back to visit them. They all had a very good knowledge of the local area, so whenever we wanted to know were to shop or good restaurants they always had an answer.

Great hotel, you won't regret staying it's within walking distance of everything.. and If you are feeling lazy it will cost you a whole AUD $1.50 to get a Taxi from Kuta Square back to the hotel.
It's clean, fresh, a Beautiful Hotel, amazing and Helpful staff. We will defiantly be visiting again.
