100 Sunset Boutique Hotel

Our trip to Bali was made prefect with the pleasant atmosphere of the 100 sunset 2 hotel.. We stayed there last year for 4 nights.. The location was strategic, very clean as its a new hotel, 2nd link to the hotel beside called 100 sunset boutique.. decent looking swimming pool area, they allow swimming till 8pm.. We stayed in balcony type room with the view of the pool.. Breakfast was nice. Disadvantages, there is no couch or chair at the balcony, so it goes a waste u can't hang out there. and the wood panels inbetween the room balcony are so wide that u can squeeze through to the next rooms balcony. Overall its highly recommended from a totally satisfied guest :) .

Have stayed at this hotel 3 times now, the staff were always so friendly, nothing was ever to much for them, the rooms are very well proportioned, with lovely decor, especially the suites up top. It's great catching there free mini bus into kuta also. Had some great chats with the securtiy guys, and they always happily flagged down a taxi for us. This is the place I recommend all my friends to stay at

We stayed here for 5 nights last May. We arrived in our first room but asked to move straight away as I felt that the patio style doors as the main door to the room had an unsafe feel about them. Our second room had a proper wooden door & just felt much better. For the price we paid (I think it was around £50 per night inc breakfast) the stay overall was ok. The room was fairly clean, the bathroom could have been cleaner. An annoying thing was that your key card to the room activated the air conditioning so if this was removed it would get very hot if you went out in the day. We got around this by leaving one card behind, but means you have to put a sign on the door not to have the room made up otherwise the maid will remove it. Our room had massive windows with thick curtains which were trap for Mosquitos. Quite annoying a night but we covered ourselves in repellant and managed to avoid getting bitten. Breakfast had a fair selection not bad considering the price, although I remember seeing quite a few flies. The pool is ok for a bit of a dip after a day out but not really suitable for lounging around all day.

We LOVE this hotel. We have stayed here for the past four years and are repeat customers.
The rooms are spacious and light, comfortable beds, amazing pillows. The staff are unintrusive, generous, and so incredibly helpful.

As for the location.. well. I can't imagine why anyone would want to be near the Bounty or on one of the main drags of Kuta. :) I, for one, quite like my sleep.
It will cost you less than two dollars to get into Kuta, or to get anywhere surrounding the hotel.
The fact that it is out of the way is the main reason we stay here.

Breakfast is, as always, pretty crap. This is not the fault of the hotel, however. This is some unwritten law in hotels ALL over the world, that their breakfast has to be awful.

The hotel is clean, very adult friendly (don't bring kids, they'll be bored), free wifi, reasonably good room service menu and fantastic staff.

And really, who goes on holiday to spend all their time in a hotel anyway ? ;)

Room Tip: Rooms 113 [one bedroom suite] and 109 [two bedroom suite] are the best!

The hotel location was quite confusing at the first place as there are 2 sunset hotel side by side. Namely 1 & 2. Sunset 1 has a larger room as they claimed. The room was huge, a bit mushy smell, but it's ok once you open the windows. Our room was located at the ground floor which has a nice pool access. I have stayed in many hotels in Kuta before. And I'd say that this one is pretty dissappointing. The hotel was a bit small for Bali standard. And service was bad. Especially at the breakfast area. No smile at all and you have to tell them to pour you a coffee. I think the staffs are very tired. Just like the hotel itself. There were a lot of noise during the night. And it's pretty annoying.

But since we booked the big family room with good price (USD100), we can't complain much. One thing that shock us was, there wasn't a security at night! Only occasionally a desk staff.

The map wasn't that accurate as well, as it's almost impossible to walk to the beach from the hotel as there is a road works going on (FEB 2013). yet it's too near to take a cab.

We were thankful that we only stay 1 night in this hotel. And pretty disappointed with Aston's standard.

Room Tip: Ground floor room with Pool Access.

Once we checked in the hotel 100 Sunset 2 we were upgraded to Deluxe room with balcony which was a pleasant surprise to us. Don't be misled and confused as there are two hotels with almost the same name next to each other, 100 Sunset 2 was the one we were staying in. The hotel itself stands right by the hectic, busy and crowded street but once you step in, you will be surprised as the hotel offers a quiet and comfortable rooms with modern arrangements and good facilities. The rooms over-viewing swimming pool are clean, modern, with balcony and comfortable beds. The room consists of small fridge, bathroom, TV set, air conditioning and has a Wi-Fi internet connection at no additional cost. Apart from rather small swimming pool, the hotel has also well-equipped fitness center which was not utilized by anybody at the time of my stay. We were staying on bed & breakfast basis so I can only share my opinion on that matter. The breakfast was good and quite diversified. Everybody could have found something to put on a plate and eat. For some people, the location of the hotel can be found irritating and rather unpleasant as there is not much around but busy street with a lot of dust and noise but when you rely on your own car it's easy to blend in and set off for your journey to other parts of the island. The parking spots are right at the front of the hotel. On the other hand, you can find a Carrefour department store in the nearest neighborhood. Let me sum it up then, overall we were very satisfied with our stay in this hotel. Comfortable and modern rooms with internet connection, decent breakfast and location enabling you to move forward with your car in any direction you want. Depending on your expectations, I can recommend this hotel if you are seeking place to sleep in and be able to explore the island with our own means of transportation. Besides, the Bali island was a great experience, great holidays and wonderful cuisine to try. Enjoy it :)

The good:

Friendly staff, decent breakfast, large 2 bedroom apartment, very clean. Next to harmony spa, which I highly recommend. Tours can be arranged from the hotel. Room service prices were also reasonable.

The bad:

Location was pretty poor, it's on the main road with lack of footpath and dust preventing you from walking anywhere. That said, a taxi to the centre of kuta costs next to nothing. Other minor issues include the pool being to cold and difficulty coordinating water temperature.
