We stayed at the Bali Garden Hotel (now known as the Bali Garden Beach Resort) for 16 nights. My husband and I couldn't fault the resort in any area. The staff are wonderful. The food from the "Boardwalk" menu was small/medium servings (by Australian standards, except for the pasta dishes which were more than ample) but very tasty and if you want more you can ask for 2 servings of whatever. At the prices you pay, you're still way ahead in value. We stayed in a deluxe room. These rooms all face the pools, ponds and beach. We had a delightful holiday and are going again next year. Of course, we will be staying at Bali Garden!!

We booked direct with hotel,no problems, the staff are very friendly, pools are clean with a great view, gardens are typical balinese works of art. Food is ok but better from the warung attached to the front of hotel and available by room service. The location is superb for shopping, beaching it or chilling out in the hotel grounds yet still getting a beach view. The new pathway on the beachfront makes for easy access to kuta without the street hassles.
Avoid the ground floor family rooms, they are very tired with broken fixtures, mould,a very unhealthy looking aircon unit in a mosquito infested courtyard. To the hotels credit we were shifted to interconnecting rooms on the 3rd floor that were clean and tidy for the same price(thanks Mr Pony) .All up it,s good value and very friendly.

Have stayed in several different hotels in Kuta...this was the best for value. We started in an old room for 1st week, then moved to renovated room for next two weeks. Would stay in older room again if necessary just to be at this hotel. Location is it's best asset. Pool area is magnificent. Makes you want to stay in the grounds. Plenty of lounges in sun or shade. Great food and drink service.Staff excellent... Easy access to shopping and restaurants. Will not swap hotels any more..just stay here!!!

We have been to Bali about 5 times. This time we were going with a group of friends, some of whom have children so the Tuban location was preferred. The Bali Garden appeared to have nice rooms, pool and value for money in this location.

My partner and I booked a King Deluxe only to be put in a superior with 2 single beds. We brought this to the attention of the front desk who rudely informed us our room was available until the next day. The next day we were advised the same thing. The following day we were moved however the room had not air conditioning. It took them 3 days to get someone to come and have a look who replaced it immediately however we were checking out. The rooms are very basic and of average cleanliness. The hotel in room are all a bit run down.

The pool and gardens were lovely but the staff, rooms and breakfast included were very poor. We were not offered any sort of compensation and there ismuch better value for money to be had in Bali for sure.

I have stayed at the Bali Gardens Hotel my last 7 times visiting Bali and rate it as the best hotel in Bali for price, staff and of course hospitality. While the rooms may not be as fancy as other hotel's througout Bali i mean how much time do you really spend in your room when you are over there, that said the rooms are undergoing renovation however from speaking to the staff that i have gotten to know quite well over my stays this may take a bit of time. The grounds are absolutely amazing and have undergone immense changes while i have been staying there and i would say now rate with some of the best resorts on the island. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone be them families or people looking for a nice holiday that escapes the hectic pace of central Kuta in the busier times of the year (June/July) and September.

What's funny with Bali Beach is that some people hate it, some love it. We loved our 4 days stay in April 2009. We stayed in a family room. We paid $80/night breakfast and all taxes included, and thought it was worth every cent of it.

Let's start with the rooms. OK they are old and need refurbishment. BUT, bedding is very good. We are a family of 5, and we have rarely seen rooms that could accomodate the five of us comfortably. The family rooms have a double bed, 1 bunk bed, and a roll-away bed which is like a real bed. Mattresses are very comfortable, the double bed is huge. Air con works, and doesn't make a lot of noise at all. There is free water in the room (big water dispenser). This is a detail, but it is actually very useful, because it is very warm in Bali. Our room was huge, with ample space for all our stuff.

All the rest at Bali Beach is wonderful: the hotel is located by the beach, in the southern part of Kuta. It is more quiet than downtown Kuta, and the beach is almost empty. The hotel is next to a shopping mall, which is a good thing: you can have your Starbucks coffee or your Baskin and Robbins ice cream, there is even a good food court with view on the sea for budget travellers.

The pool area is flawless: a deep pool where you can dive (3 meters deep), a spa, a pool on the beach, a bar in the pool. There is a lot of shade, so you can choose between sun and shade.

Food at Boardwalk bar and restaurant is good, except the beef burger which I do not recommend.

Breakfast buffet was very good. There is a wide choice of food: fruits, omelet and pancake station, rice and noddles, sausage, croissants, ... Glad there is a non-smoking section in the restaurant, because there are lots of smokers.
