Been going to Un's for years. Really nice international and Indonesian food. Fabulous friendly staff. The Un's margaritas are the best! Nice touches like complimetary cold towels, margarita upon arrival and appetizer. Highly recommended!

My friends & I went last Thursday.

Getting to this small lane was slightly confusing. We couldn't believe it when our taxi driver told us that we had to walk through a small lane to get to this restaurant. It didn't help that it was raining heavily. It makes better sense to enter this well hidden lane from Legian. Or 20m in from Jalan Pantai Kuta Shorter.

The restaurant is built around a courtyard. A warm ambience.
A complimentary shot of Un's magarita was served once when sat down. It was refreshing & it definitely tempts one to order the drink. The actual drink was only Rp25,000.

A complimentary chicken Frieda  (not sure if this is spelt right) was also served. It was delicious & visually appetizing with the chicken patty placed in the middle of 3 different colored sauces.

The Vol au Vents was served in 3s with a generous serving of mixed vegetables. It was yummy & made us want more.

The Thai style King prawn spaghetti reminds me of mee goreng (fried noodles commonly found in Singapore & Malaysia). But better. The prawns were succulent. This dish was slightly spicy but delicious.

The half portion of Tortellini al carne was served in 5 pieces. Just right for any light eater or if you intended to share another dish with someone. The cheese cream sauce wasn't too cloying.

The Ravioli Carousel platter had 3 pieces of 5 types of ravioli. The Ravioli was skinny. Not very well stuff but they made up for it in numbers.

The brownish one was stuffed with walnuts. The white was stuffed with spinach. There was one ravioli made with a bit of curry spice. Not very strong in flavor thought.

I asked the waitress if she was able to tell me the stuffing but she just walked away. I wasn't sure if she did not understand what I was asking for or she just could not be bothered.

Service is mediocre. The staff that served us looked disinterested. When asked about her recommendations, she flipped  the page to the stipulated Un's chef's recommendation & blandly answered that this list was the recommendation.

The restaurant had only 2 table occupied. 3 adults & 2 kids. But service was slow. While waiting for our food, we had 2 staff standing 3 meters away yapping away loudly. Nobody came to check if we required anything or if the food was to our liking.

Calling for the bill with 4 staff chatting at the bar was a chore. Nobody came over to check on what we wanted. Then, there were only 5 customers including us. But we were unable to get the attention of the staff. When the waitress eventually came, she just counted the money & walked away. There were no thanks.

Seems like you pay for the food but not the service.
