Breakfast was a little on the weak side. They need more options and a richer menu.
Other than that, it was clean, the pool was great to have, it was walking distance and a short taxi ride away to many locations. At night the street needed more light (very dark) but it was safe.
The staff were friendly and efficient.

Room Tip: We had a suite after we said we were interested in having a group of friends we would like to come w...

We've stayed at many places in Bali. We had heard decent remarks regarding The Kozy (obviously not at TripAdvisor, which we should've checked first in hindsight), so we decided to give it a go. Upon checking in after our plane landed at 8.30pm, everything seemed easy enough. While the receptionist wasn't overtly welcoming, we were shown to our villa promptly. We were given glasses of orange juice (which was a nice gesture), but this - unfortunately - was the last positive thing we experienced at The Kozy.

To make it easier for potential visitors to decide whether they'd want to stay at The Kozy or not, I've compiled a list of pros and cons below.

Pros:
- Breakfast is always promptly delivered every morning, though for the price of admission, it wasn't anything spectacular.
- Clean beds
- Airconditioning was "just right".

Cons:
- Found a frog in my bedroom one night. After calling the concierge, he was not surprised to hear the complaint. (I suspected he's heard such a complaint numerous times before). The staffer was friendly though, considering the complaint was made late at night.
- The bathroom was quite dirty and in need of a good scrub. I constantly found leaves and flying bugs in the bathtub.
- Misleading photos on the website; the villa seemed dusty and the pool was also in need of a good scrub and looked unsanitary.
- Staircase was a little steep and there was no railings.
- As for the overall design of the villa, the aesthetics seemed very dated, the walls had frequent cracks in them (not sure if that was intentional) the bathroom was very old, had open, unclose-able windows.

Overall, the stay was an uncomfortable one and I was not looking forward to returning to it during my days at Bali. If you're in need of a good villa to stay at in Kuta/Saraswati, look elsewhere. The location is great, but everything else seems to fall flat in the face of higher expectations.

We stayed in this hotel for the last two nights of our stay in Bali in December. We visit Bali frequently and decided to stay somewhere different for a change. Given airline schedules and the previous villa we had been staying in being booked out, we needed to secure two nights elsewhere. This one was a big mistake. They tried to charge us an additional USD50 for an additional bed that we had already paid for (forget the fact that USD 50 for an additional bed was outrageous - 5 star hotels don't charge that much). They didn't supply any additional towels, or seats around the dining room table however. The breakfast that came with the room fee was awful and so bad in comparison to what we had been used to previously.

The room was clean enough but despite staying there two nights, the room was not serviced at all. Architecturally the villa was actually nice, and the pool was very nice. The staff tried their best but are obviously not support by management.

In summary, don't stay there.

Worest hotel I ever stayed. Located in middle of no where; staff couldn't find my booking on arrival; cheapest shampoo and body wash; worms(yes!!!) in shower area; bad design and not well cleaned room. Stay away from it!

The villa needs a very good scrub and paint job.(it not what the website looks like). I travel the world for work and this villa is more like a 3 star villa. The staff are very helpful and accommodating but feel they are stretched with resources on what they can do. Had breakfast in the first day but it was cold, so didn't bother with the rest of the week!

Me and my husband stayed in room nr. 6 for 3 nights, relying on reviews from other sites. It all sounded promising, and the pictures shown on their website makes you want to believe you end up in a 'cozy' hotel. But it's completely the opposite: what a huge disappointment... We were very sad we didn't read the reviews here on tripadvisor first. We're the type of travellers that literally hop from villa to hotel and vice versa, to experience the good of it all. Well, we highly warn you for this one. Stay away from it if you don't want to waste money. We were so surprised this hotel's rated 5 star. Unbelievable. The rooms are so incredible run down, when you sit in the living/lounge area you better close your eyes and not look around since the walls look like they come straight from a horror movie. The pool is a joke, it's super small and contains dirty water. The bathroom floor has stones all over it but in a non-logical way, you have to balance between them. The TV in the bedroom was supposed to be a LCD but it was a 14'inch from the '80s. The bathrobes had huge holes in them. The safe was out of order so they put another one on top of it which was not attached to the wall. The tissues from the tissuebox in the bathroom were so outdated, it looked disgusting. They don't put prices in the hotel information book, but we let them do the laundry for us once. What a big misstake.... we ended up paying a bill of 75USD for one pair of trousers, two dresses , 10 pair of underwear and some t-shirts. On the second day the housekeeping left the dirty glasses from the welcoming drink in the room, while they prepared the breakfast. They removed towels and did not replace them with new ones. The breakfast is very disappointing. It tasted like it was from the previous day and that it was just heated up. The fruit has been laying in the basket for weeks and were half eaten by ants and other insects. Horrible and disgusting. Once again, stay away from the Kozy Villas. Just around the corner there's a brand new boutique hotel (Kamar Kamar) where you'd much rather want to spend your money on.

This is an affordable villa-style hotel as far as Seminyak is concerned ($300US per night) but it located in a dingy alley which didn't feel like Seminyak. Also, they were somewhat shady regarding payment (made me pay upfront, and the exchange rate took an extra $50US from me).

This was an average place, but not great in any sense of the word. The food wasn't very good (and they only have breakfast, no other food), and the villa itself had mosquitos (though we had mosquito net) and the bathroom was outside.

Next time I will either stay a much less-expensive hotel where I don't have high expectations, or at a more-expensive hotel that at least delivers on expectations. I wish I knew about TripAdvisor when I booked the trip last year...
