Balibaliku Beach Front Luxury Private Pool Villa
Ranked #33 of 57 Hotels in Jimbaran

These villas are in a fantastic location, right across the road from the south seafood warungs and the beach. There's also a little corner store a minute from the villas.

The front desk of the resort is a bit unprepossessing but don't let that put you off. Staff are polite and helpful.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa with private plunge pool for 3 nights and would definitely recommend it. We only paid AUD$165 per night on Expedia which is a bargain for luxury private villa accommodation. The villa had a separate lounge/dining/kitchen area and a very spacious bathroom plus outdoor shower (which our 3 yr old loved). We had a king bed and the couch folded out into a bed for our 3 yr old. We loved the little touches like the bath with rose petals in it and the fresh fruit.

The private plunge pool was fantastic. There are also spa jets at one end of the pool. There was a day bed outside but we never used it.

It was really noisy outside (I think we were next to the road and there is a lot of construction going on nearby) but when we were inside the villa, you didn't notice the noise.

Breakfast was included. You could either eat in the restaurant or have room service. We opted for room service, which was a nice treat. I think there were 3 or 4 choices for the set menu breakfast. We had the Indonesian breakfast of nasi goreng or mee goreng with fried chicken and fresh fruit juice. It was excellent. We tried the congee one morning too. They also provided some cereal for the 3 year old.

Lived in 3 bedrooms with BIG pool; breakfast services to the room are....Very Good....BUT.....

1) Noisy with neary construction site (noisy in every 7.30am) ....
2) Noisy in BBQ carparks around villa (noisy in every 6pm-midnight)
3) Noisy with vechiles - aircraft and trucks (noisy in 3am.) - don't know why aircraft flied on your head every early morning. Road along our villa, trucks passed through and noisy every night.
4) Noisy with dogs - many dogs shouts in every midnight (noisy in midnight - 5am)

Futhermore...toliet has bad smelling.

In summary, you can try this but i never go again.

We've just got back from our stay at Bali Baliku.

Location
It's really close to the beach and the seafood restaurants and surf gear rental place. 20 min from the airport. Well placed to tour southern Bali.

Staff
We found the staff friendly and they pointed us to one of the seafood restaurants that served great prawns.

Facilities
The villa is nice and private with a jacuzzi/private pool to splash around in. The place was clean and generally well-maintained, including the kitchen.

Neighbourhood
This is probably the deal breaker for most people. There is a construction side on two sides of the property. The construction wraps around little Bali Baliku on two sides and yes, work goes on pretty much from morning till night. When we were there, there was no drilling or piling works so it was tolerable to us. In the early morning, there was really loud barking. We got used to this by the second night, but just be advised.

Overall
This place felt homely as it is a relatively small estate (compared to the big names just up the beach). Still, it was comfortable and did feel luxurious and private. The noise from construction and the dogs at night does compromise this, but can be managed. Take a look at the estate layout at the URL below. We stayed in the 1 bedroom villa at the extreme bottom right corner (Villa 1).

http://www.balibaliku.com/master-plan.asp

To the left is the beach, and I reckon if you stay in the 3 or 2 bedroom villas you may experience the coconut husk burning smell as these are closest to the restaurants. We didn't notice any smell while we were there, though. The wind was blowing it out to sea.

Along the top and on the right border is the construction site. We found the noise tolerable, but this could be because it was buffered by the row of villas behind us.

Along the bottom is the road, and between the construction and the dogs, I'd take the construction (at least you know that they will stop when you want to sleep!). I don't know the numbering exactly, but if my villa was 1, and they numbered all the 1 bedroom villas before the 2 and 3 bedrooms, then I'd go for villa 9 or 10. Should minimize coconut smells and dog barking. I think the wall and tall plants should give guests enough privacy against the construction workers next door.

Room Tip: Villa 9 or 10 (see review)

The Good: private pool, separate upstairs dining/TV room with fridge, deep bath, generous shower, plentiful towels, room service, no bugs, extremely quiet, extremely private villas, 50 meters to Jimbaran Bay shoreline seafood restaurants and beach, private beach umbrellas, spotless onsite restaurant.
The Bad: no telephone book in entire complex, no staff briefing on how stuff works (e.g. Underwater pool lights, jacuzzi), a paucity of local brochures, no newspapers, absolutely atrocious wifi reception, no tour brochures in villa, no phone book in villa, toilet would not flush - had to use a bucket of water to flush, reluctance of staff to pass on local info, lousy, one way only shuttle and only from villa to Kuta. Poor shuttle schedule. If we hadn't been to Bali before, we'd have no idea of what to do or see from the lack of info provided. No ATM.

The Ugly: between 5:00pm and midnight the smell of coconut husks being burnt as fuel can be quite suffocating, depending on wind.

Super Special: staff, privacy of own pool and jacuzzi, closeness to beach, deep, deep bath

We just came back from staying here and after reading all the reviews I was expecting a pleasant experience. I wanted to book the 2 bedroom villa but non were available so they told me that they would upgrade me to the 3 bedroom villa. When we arrived they dumped our bags outside the door of the villa, we were unable to use one of the rooms in the 3 bedroom villa as I had only booked a 2 bedroom villa. There was construction going on right next door which went from 8am until 8pm, we were not told about this before arriving so we had to listen to this the whole stay. Breakfast was limited so we ended up eating up the road in a nice cafe. The outside of the place really needs to be maintained better. Depending on what staff member you ask you get a difference answer to a questions - one tried to charge me to use the WIFI there when it is free for guests!
One morning while we were sleeping a large picture fell off the wall and just missed my 5 week old baby who was asleep in a cot. I asked to see the Manager but was told he would be in at 9am - he didn't show up and I tried to see him during our stay but he was never around or bothered to see us about any issues, so I'm still waiting to speak to him!
The kitchen was filthy and really needs to be cleaned better.
The only good thing about this villa is that the pool is great and the bedrooms are nice and clean.
I have seen better accommodation in Bali for the same price and with better facilities - I would not recommend this place, stay somewhere else!

Stayed there in the first half of November 2010. The villas are new and have everything a family may need, even umbrellas for frequent Balinese rains. Beach towels are provided upon request free of charge. Breakfasts were quite good and nutritious, but the there is only 4 options which is not much when you stay there for longer than a week. The beach is very close and the hotel has its own little area with beach chairs and umbrellas provided to the hotel clients free of charge, which is nice. Airport pick up is provided at a moderate price. When you leave, the hotel provides complimentary airport transfer. The hotel territory is kept in excellent condition. It's clean and beautiful.

A very pleasant part of our trip was the great deal hotel gave me. We were offered the 1-bedroom villa (usually suitable for 2 people only) for the family of 4. They just put 2 extra beds for my children free of charge and we only had to pay for the children's breakfasts.

Cons - No 24hr room service

Overall, we've had a wonderful holiday at Bali Baliku and if we are ever back to Bali, we will definitely stay there again.

We booked this hotel at the last minute, having had major dramas at our previous accommodation. Fortunately there was a two-bedroom villa left for the two days we needed and we weren't really sure what to expect.
The hotel was lovely, and the staff truly exceptional. They were very friendly to our kids and went out of their way to ensure our stay was exceptional.
The villa itself was nice, clean, with a variety of channels and a dvd player. the private pool is very nice, and our kids had a great time with it.
I would say that Jimbaran isn't a great place to be on New Year's Eve -- fireworks were going off til about 4am and the huts have thatched roofs, so i was a bit worried that we would end up in an inferno, but this is not really a complaint. The place is a really nice little surprise.
