“Tranquil getaway above Jimbaran Bay”
Reviewed June 8, 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Spent a fantastic week in May with a small group of friends at this stunning villa in mountains above Jimbaran Bay - great service, great food, great setting, beautifully furnished and comfortable, perfect weather. We took advantage of having a driver/car some days to go out for lunch and shopping nearby. We all want to return. Thanks all at Villa Uma Nina.

“FANTASTIC!!”
Reviewed April 18, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

What a GREAT stay we had. Well equipped property and very well staffed by people who really care. They go out of their way to help. Having a dedicated car and driver is so comfortable, that all my inhibitions about their remote location never materialized.

This place has five large bedroom suites where 10 adults can easily and very comfortably coexist. Great swimming pool and staff that get it. The chef is outstanding.

Do check this place out. We loved it and will be back next year.

“A little slice of paradise,”
Reviewed August 31, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

From being collected at the airport by the friendly face of Komang, we were looking forward to another visit to Villa Uma Nina, and catching up with friends there,
The villa is large enough to house two or three families with ease, the pictures do not do the property justice, the gardens are stunning and very large, lots of areas to sit quietly and just enjoy the peace and tranquility,
The bedroom suites are large and extreemly comfortable, the house itself is perfect in its design to relax and very comfortable for all of us, ten on this occasion.
The Villa has all the mod cons you would be looking for, media room, games room, wifi, a ton of movies for the kids to watch when they want to chill out away from the oldies,
The swimming pool is larger than it looks in the pictures, and looks quite stunning when the staff put candles out in the evenings,
This is truly an exceptional place to stay, the food was always great, from breakfast to dinners, and if you want to visit some of the landmark or book a restaurant the staff are more than happy to organise bookings for you,
This is how a holiday should be, I love the way the villa is located away from the busy parts, but close enough to frequent when needs must, this our fifth visit to Bali, and our third to villa Uma Nina , we will be coming back soon, we cannot recommend it highly enough.

“Fabulous time at Uma Nina”
Reviewed August 25, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Our second time in Bali and deciced to stay the beautiful Uma Nina villa who is close to the beautiful beaches like Jimbaran and Balangan!

Our stay in Uma Nina Villa was unbelievable Good: friendly staff who looked after us anytime. Great service. The driver picked us up from the airport and even available for day trips! There was almost no reason to leave the villa to go out for dinner: the food was amazing!

Beautiful pool, garden en enough things to entertain yourself. (like the game room or have a massage at the spa ).

The bedrooms are stunning with beautiful bathrooms. The interior is lovely.

Thank you for the great time we had at your Villa Uma Nina

“Spectacular grounds... great villa... a few minor reservations”
Reviewed March 28, 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We stayed at Villa Uma Nina during March 2016 for 5 nights. Traveled with 5 adults and 2 young children.

The grounds of this villa are amazing. Impeccably landscaped, huge garden. There's an outdoor massage pavilion, bocce and croquet, and huge empty lawns for kids to run around. The outdoor dining pavilion is amazing as well. Grounds are really gorgeous.

The villa is more of a house, than a typical Balinese villa. Meaning, all of the space is interior and air-conditioned. There's not much ventilation downstairs or upstairs, with just one main front door and two back doors. I'm used to more outdoor living space from other villas in Bali. Another drawback to the lack of ventilation is that the bathrooms and bedrooms are a bit musty. This is obviously a choice of the owner and designer, but I find bathrooms in Bali to be better with more outdoor ventilation.

The villa included a car and driver for 8 hours per day - we took full use to go down to different hotels to use facilities and beach with the kids. Driver was great.

The staff was pretty good, but less engaging or proactive than I am used to from a different management company. I usually use Elite Havens, and decided to go with Bali Luxury Villas for Uma Nina. I find overall Elite Havens staff to be better.

The dining was good, but not excellent. The cook did accommodate the children well, but the Indonesian food was very westernised, despite my requests to go less on presentation and more on quality.

There was a lack of detail to the cleanliness, hygiene and overall operation of the villa. I found that I had to use my own staff to clean the kitchen, and the staff seemed a bit surprised at our concern. There were loads of ants and insects crawling all over the pantry ingredients. Finally, on the last day there was a dead lizard in my child's bakso soup.

A fan and air conditioner were not functioning properly on our arrival, and were replaced a few hours the same day. Great work fixing those immediately, but the villa was vacant before our arrival and should have been in tip top shape.

We had to use our staff to clean the rooms of dead insects regularly.

The villa was in between managers, and thus the interim manager could not pay as much attention to our villa as I was used to from other management companies. He did not show up on the day of departure either, surprisingly.

The location of this villa is great, if you want to avoid traffic and madness of Canggu and Seminyak - which was my goal specifically. It was an easy 15/20 minutes from the airport, and close to the Nusa Dua and Jimbaran hotels. That location is not for everyone, but it's great with kids because you can take advantage of the facilities at the various hotels and avoid sitting in traffic.

All in all I wanted to rate this villa excellent, but I don't think the management company is up to par for the price. I will go back to villas managed by Elite Havens for my next trip in a few months. I would still recommend for the grounds and location.
