“Sophisticated but unpretentious dining”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2014 via mobile

We enjoyed a fine selection of Cuca's tapas dishes, accompanied by friendly but non-intrusive service. All the dishes were both beautifully presented and very tasty. We found five of the dished sufficient for the two of us to share; they arrived in sequence and provided a lovely succession of flavours. Our selections centred mainly on seafood (including superb grilled squid with avocado gazpscho) but also included a very pleasant pork dish. Our deserts (Bali breakfast and dirty monkey) were also tasty though the coffee flavour of the monkey dish was a bit strong for my taste.

This restaurant would grace any major international city - a dining experience here is highly recommended.

“Fusion..or confusin??”

Read about Cuca in Garuda's magazine COLOURS.

Went with some friends from Sumatra and chose the 8 course special and sat in the Food Bar area where you are almost sitting in the kitchen.

The proprietor Kevin Cherkas, has extensive international experience and has developed a unique tapas feel here.

He combines locally sourced foods and the combinations are amazing. He spent quite a bit of time with our group talking about complimentary flavours and how local farmers are helping him produce what he needs...even organic chocolate form Pod!! www.podchocolate.com

Situated in a coconut grove as part of Kayumanis Estate Private Villas at Jimbaran Bay, this was an amazing experience.

Go to the website to see their latest menu offerrings which change progressively every month.

Best dining experience in southern Bali!!

“Worthy of the hype!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 14, 2014 via mobile

My partner and I visited this restaurant for lunch today. The restaurant is very quiet at lunchtime. We sat at the foodbar as recommended by other trip advisor reviews. We enjoyed very personal service by the Chef and owner. He explained each dish to us, what it was inspired by and what ingredients he used. As mentioned by other reviewers, his passion was evident and added to our enjoyment of each dish. We had the chefs selection, which included 10 small courses. After the first course, I think we both thought that we wouldn't be satisfied. Boy, were we wrong! We left feeling extremely satisfied. Many of the meals were a little outside our comfort zone; we aren't massive foodies. I think the key is to go in with an open mind and immerse yourself in the experience. We were impressed with each dish and would definitely love to go back. Our favourite dishes were the BBQ octopus, the fried chicken, and the Bali breakfast, although I doubt you could go very far wrong with anything on the menu. Thank you so much for having us!

we called in one morning just to check out the menu but were not sure if it was our taste but a few days later we walked past and decided to give it a go. we were not disappointed. the staff here were first class . we were not sure about what to have as the menu was not what we are used to . the waiter suggested we have the chefs special which is thee whole menu but served individually as tapas. you were given a small booklet which told you exactly what you were getting next . the food started coming within 10 minutes and didnt stop for about an hour and each dish got better and better . we dont eat sweets but they were also included and we left nothing. just a great night with great food and great staff .
tip; try a tokyo mojito

“A chef who's passion shines as bright as his food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2014

I've lived in 2 cities,New York and Shanghai. I've had the pleasure of dining in 3 star Michelin restaurants. I had a friend mention to us that this was a must stop destination.. It is! Run don't walk because soon word will get out with the amazing product being delivered by chef Kevin and his staff. And to the one reviewer who complained about meeting the chef probably didn't sit by the kitchen which is a must!!! We let the chef pick out a meal for us and we were mesmerized by his knowledge, charm and his passion. I don't know about any other reviewers but to meet an actual chef who really cared about how his food is received... That doesn't happen too often. Did I mention he worked at El Bulli. Are you feeling me people? Have fun enjoy the food and your chefs passion....you're in Bali after all
