Just go. If this place was in London or New York it would have two Michelin stars and cost four times as much. It's true high-end without any of the annoying pretentious stuff.

We walked passed Cuca on the way to Jimbaran beach and were impressed by the slick beautiful grounds. So we went in one night without a booking, knowing nothing about the place. It is simply amazing.

Sat at the food bar, which I highly recommend, had front row seats to an incredibly pristine, excellently run kitchen. The chef, Kevin, is brilliant and entertaining. Managed to talk to us despite it being in the middle of dinner rush.

The food is wonderful, we had 3 dishes each and everyone was surprising delicious fun and unique. Food is tapas style but simply amazing and done in a relaxed and very hip way. Lots of exotic local touches blended in and everything comes from Indonesia, with most being directly from Bali.

It very much deserves the no.1 place in this area.

Nice place for fine dining. The curtains helps gives a very private setting when you dine. Friendly staff with great service and help to explain the menu.

The dishes I liked was the fried chicken and the Mushroom rice. Esp. the mushroom rice, the aroma of the mushrooms was strong and the taste of it was perfect.

The chicken and beef patties didnt impressed me. Maybe it just did not suit my taste buds.

Overall a comfortable experience and food was beautifully plated.

Returning guest from CUCA and again we are blow a way from the creations and creativity.
It's wonderful to see that Bali get a so talented chef. The level of cooking is above everything I had so far. I am sure not a restaurant for everybody but it's stunning and very very impressive what they are doing!! Hands down... We come back soon ... Fantastic !!!

I was looking forward to try Cuca, because a few of my chef friends recommended it, but i was really disappointed. There were 8 of us, it was Xmas eve & we had set menu (Rp 588,000++/person). Im a very open minded foodie & enjoy dining at fine dining restaurants, but was very very disappointed with the xmas menu at Cuca. And a few of the staff had very bad body odour, which a lot of us noticed. This kinda set the mood for the night... Anyway, we had:
1. Crispbread w/ dips - ok, crowd pleaser
2. Smoked fish - not a crowd pleaser, a bit fishy, but ok we finished it.
3. Honey pumpkin soup - too sweet, too herby (was it nutmeg??) a few of us were struggling to finish it. Im a pumpkin lover & couldn't down more than 2 spoons.
4. Stuffed roast chicken - it looked pretty but tasted funny. i can smell the strong herbs again. The condiments didnt complement the chicken, it tasted like 1000 things in one plate... salty, herby, very bitter. Again, i could only down 1/3 of the portion. Everyone were also struggling.
5. Choc mousse - good
6. Cinnamon cotton candy - taste very unusual... Usually, "unusual" means good, but this one reminds me of an asian traditional medicine. Not good.
7. Sangria - nowhere near authentic sangria. Not impressed.
8. Other drinks: ice cubes in tea came out melted, hot tea came out almost cold. Btw tiny glass cost us Rp. 35,000++ we expect at least a proper drink

Overall, the whole experience was so unpleasant. Im really sorry for writing a bad review, but the food really didnt do justice to all the good reviews.

Going to Cuca is far more than just a meal, it is a windfall experience of a beautiful house surrounded by generous lush greenery and a show brought forth by a fasinating crew of service and kitchen staff. I recommend you ask for kitchen counter seats and catch a rare glimpse of a world-class Chef at his best. Kevin Cherkas-used to helm the now-defuct Blu at Shangri-La Singapore lures you with a witty plating of every dish then his mastery of blending flavors n textures transcends into another level of gourmet dining.
What amazes us is Kevin's ability to articulate every local ingredient into his world of gastromolecular cooking. Every detail in the restuarant is created from scratch by him and his wonderful wife- from the building architecture to a wooden spoon. I highly recommend Cuca to anyone who wants not just a meal- watch Cuca on the Award list, it'd come!
