Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay

We stayed at this site with our kids in July of 2012. The Royal Suite was the kid's favorite room of their lives. They would spend hours going from the icy cold pool to the stand up hot tub and then to the "just right" bigger pool. The location of villa 100 is amazing with the infinity pool overlooking the ocean. The staff on the beach played soccer, badminton, and ping pong with the kids and really seemed to enjoy it. The only controversial thing about this hotel would be the location.
You are very close to the airport. This is a good thing after a twenty hour flight but might be considered a negative by some people as the main views look directly at the landing planes.
All in all an amazing experience.
A bit different then my initial experience in Bali renting a motorcycle and staying in guest houses in the early 90s.

Room Tip: Go big or go home.

When we booked Four Seasons, we expected a certain level of customer service, but did not get it. We stayed our first two nights at Bvlgari and were very impressed. Four Seasons has a lot to learn from Bvlgari if it wants to compete with the best. Here is our experience:

CONS:
- Customer service. We booked a villa and on our first night there, at about 11 PM, we could hear the TV noises from the villa next door. (One would think that you should not hear noises like this in a villa, but we were obviously wrong.) We called the front desk (Call #1) to have them resolve the issue. Fifteen or so minutes later, the situation had not been resolved, so we called again (Call #2). We were told that they could not hear the noise, so they didn't ask the neighbors to do anything. We offered to have the staff come to our room to listen to the noise. Another fifteen or so minutes later, the noise persists. We call again (Call #3) and this time, we demanded that they come to our room to listen to the noise. They come and agree that the noise is loud. Within minutes, we heard the phone ring at the villa next door (yes, we could hear it!) and the TV noise stopped.

Now, we ask, why does it take THREE phone calls to resolve this problem at the Four Seasons? We were not impressed.

PROS:

- Very close walking distance to nearby Jimbaran Bay Beach. There is also a free buggy service that takes you there. Beautiful sunset there and interesting seafood dinners you can book right on the beach. Four Seasons also has its private area called "Coconut Grove" there which has free marshmallow roastings and nicely decorated cabanas.

- A menu of activities around the resort which makes it ideal for families. They have a dress-up photo session where you can wear traditional Balinese clothing and take photos around the resort. They also have a free guided morning bike ride into town. If you didn' bring tennis shoes, it's okay...they'll have it for you. We saw paint easels set up along the shore so guests could paint their favorite scene. There is also a kids' club which other people's kids seemed to enjoy.

- Good food, including afternoon tea and room service.

Dear Valued Guest:

Thank you very much for having taken the time to post your feedback on TripAdvisor.

We appreciate your comments, both positive and where we need to improve. I am disappointed that your first night experience was marred by the loud noise and sincerely apologize for the inefficient follow up from our front office staff. We do take your comments very seriously and I have personally addressed this issue with our Director of Rooms for discussion and immediate improvement. We always strive for the highest levels of service and facilities, however obviously fell short on this occasion.

I am very glad though that you enjoyed our activities lined up for parents and children alike as well as our dining options and the food served.

I do hope that we will have the opportunity in the future to welcome you back to our Resort.

Please do not hesitate to contact me directly for any questions.

Until then I remain with warm regards from the island of the gods,

I went on my honeymoon, actually before even starting my honeymoon I had great expectations about this place, but still everything was beyond my expectations, our villa was a perfect place to be, every part of it was special, our private pool was so much fun, the bathtub is a treat, the outdoor shower, & the most special thing was having our own butler every morning preparing our breakfast in our own dinning area at our villa :) food is delicious btw specially salmon club sandwich & omletes, this was amazing.. all stuff were great, friendly, and helpful, and I would like to send my very special thanks to the amazing most helpful person "FARIDA" she was a great help, i kept on asking her a lot of questions & she recommended such nice places for dinner & spa..
I also went to a massage class at the hotel spa that was quiet intresting, the spa in the hotel is very expensive thou & not very impressive, u can find much cheaper spas out side with same service & maybe better..
it's a very expensive hotel but trust me it's worth every penny.. I can't wait to go back for an anniversary.

These small, private villas comprise the most romantic venue, I have ever seen. Loved staying there while we were building the InterConitinental Hotel, nearby.

so you are going to finally visit Bali and you want to get all the bells and whistles to smooth the at times bumpy and textured paths that are Bali. The Four Seasons property at Jimbaran Bay is an ideal perch to cover all angles. This is fine service in a great location all rolled into one. If someone wanted Hawaii then they would have taken the easy way, but if you've booked Bali you are in search of a road less traveled. The Four Seasons delivers as a great base from which to have your ultimate Bali experience.

We visited as a couple in our mid 50's with two 15yo in tow. The resort hit all the marks for both groups. The concierge booked the activities (white water rafting, elephant safari, snorkeling, visits to remote beaches), and the service on the grounds were seamless (massages, dinners on property and off).

We first visited Bali and this property in 1997 and it has withstood the test of time with grace. The addition of an enhanced beachfront area through development of The Coconut Grove is a real p,us. You can enjoy sundowners drinks or light lunch and even a full BBQ for dinner.

Local seafood right on the sand is a 200 meter walk down the beach to the local warungs where the local fishing fleet dishes their catch.

The team at Four Seasons is personable and attentive to detail. At one point we wanted to go 'off piste' and hit some remote beaches. They helped book with a local taxi for drop off and pickup four hours later...perfect. weather was rough for snorkeling and they tracked us down at breakfast and helped us redesign our day. The attention to detail and personal touch made the experience special and oh so comfortable.

Bali is an adventure for any visitor, and the way to see and experience it with little risk and a ton of upside with at this property. If you've taken the time and effort to get to Bali, it isn't the time to scrimp. If a splurge is in order, this is your place. One can do Bali cheaper for sure, but if this is the trip of a lifetime, rest easy....it's money well spent!

It was our second time to this hotel, the first was last year. The experience was as good, if not better, than the last. The resort did not feel dated, the service is top-notch and the villas are divine. Food is great too. I will probably be back for a third time next year!
