Oh my!!! how do one describe a little piece of heaven on earth? This is the resort that has everything.

We decided to pay extra for the Club level and it was well worth it. It included food and drinks from 07h00 to 23h00 as well as free Wi Fi in the club lounge. The rooms was spacious and relaxing with day beds on the balcony to linger and watch the ocean. The price includes daily pressing of 2 items.

There is plenty of restaurants and we ate at Kisik Seafood Market with a stunning sunset view but honestly did not need to go anywhere because we were stuffed from eating at the club lounge. We did go the the Rock Bar because it is a tourist attraction after all but guests at the hotel can skip the long lines and ride the inclinator, just give yourself at least an hour if you want to observe the sunset. The view from the bar is, once again, stunning. Make sure you have lots of gigs on your SD cards that's all I can say.

The spa was another treat and the aquatonic pool was a workout!!! Who knew you can excersize so hard in the pool... I had the Lulur body treatment that included a foot scrub, bath soak after a body scrub with yoghurt and then a massage. Did I mention heaven??

Most of all, the staff went out of their way to satisfy our whims. Oooh, I felt like royalty.

We checked out the Wedding chapels and strolled around the gardens at the resort is which is meticulously maintained and beautiful and but stopped at 2 miles & just jumped in the shuttle which takes you anywhere and to the sister resort Rimba, equally beautiful but very modern..

I was a little concerned when I booked this resort because some of the reviews said that it is far from town but truly, the short taxi ride is scenic and it's about $7 one way. Just establish the price before getting into the taxi. I am glad I decided to go ahead and stay at Ayana. If I was'nt so curious to see everything in Bali, it would have been just fine to hang around at the lovely Ayana. Will definitely go back again.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 1419 and it was close to the Club lounge, stairs, had a great view and it was quie...

Dear ‘Charmain S’

Thank you for sharing your experience after staying in a Club Room at AYANA Resort and Spa.

I am delighted that you had a true vacation with us and and that you enjoyed the complimentary food at the Club Lounge, while also taking the complimentary shuttle to visit RIMBA Jimbaran Bali. It’s great to know you indulged in Kisik Seafood Restaurant on the beach, 11 swimming pools and recreation facilities.

I look forward to welcoming you back to AYANA and RIMBA.

Very nice resort for a romantic or family holiday with a choice of rooms or private villas spread over a huge area. Was there for a seminar so didn't get to explore too much of the resort. Typical Balinese welcome with garlands and smiley people. Checking in was a little slow due to the popularity of this place. The room was spacious and clean with a generous supply of amenieties. Wifi service was very very slow and cuts off most of the time. The various restaurants serve very good selection of food with a cultural show at one of them. Breakfast is something you will look forward to as it has a huge selection. Visitors must not miss the sunset experience at the popular Rock Bar.

Lucky that we booked the standard room only and upgraded to Jimbary Room which facing the sea, has a great seaview and golf view. The swim in the pool is very relaxing and with amazing view and also can see the sunset there.Rock bar is very famous to enjoy a drink and excellent sunset. The guest has the priority access to Rock Bar which is awesome. we save 30 minutes time to queue up there. We want to go to swim at.their private beach. We take the shuttle and go to the beach. Disappointed that the beach is not good for swim, but view and the color of the water is AMAZING! We also enjoy there. Staff serve you with cold water feeling fresh and comfortable. Spa package including meals which is valuable.

Of course there are a lot of better beach/cliff - side hotels in Bali. But most of them only offer large villas with super high rate. In Ayana, you still can find smaller rooms with lower rate, but you still get to enjoy everything that Ayana has to offer. The swim in the saltwater pool is very pleasant with amazing view, although I wish there were more lounge chairs and the pool was bigger. The guest priority access to Rock Bar is awesome, considering how long the line for public guests is. Make the effort to take the shuttle and go to their private beach. The view and the color of the water is AMAZING!

I absolutely hated this hotel. I have stayed in five-star accommodations around the world, both large properties and small, and was stunned by how mediocre, dated, and musty the Ayana was. We booked a deluxe ocean view room. It was on the highest floor but still the view consisted of about 10% ocean and 90% trees/grass/other buildings.

The only nice part of the hotel is the famous Rock Bar, the restaurants near the ocean, and the ocean itself. Ayana is obviously coasting on these aspects of the property, which are pretty but also generic. When I looked out at the ocean and Rock Bar, I felt like I could be at any standard beach resort anywhere - Mexico, Caribbean, Mediterranean, Miami, etc. Nothing about this place was distinct. The grounds seemed well-kept but sterile - the lawns were very manicured and the whole place had the feel of a golf club, with not nearly enough flowers, plants or trees, and zero personality. Even the guests seemed like zombies - just sort of sitting or lying around, taking endless selfies and not smiling or enjoying themselves.

The room furnishings looked to be about 20 years old, and consisted mainly of wood veneer, tacky art, and carpets that were falling apart. The telephone in our room did not work and smelled like a dirty bathroom, as if it had been cleaned with an old rag that was also used to clean a toilet. The main building looks like a cheap motel.

Another thing that bothered me was that, during check-in, the woman who escorted us to our room asked us whether we knew breakfast was not included in our rate. We said yes. She then went on to explain (even though we said we understood this already) that breakfast cost extra and was $28 per person. It was a somewhat condescending and bizarre "welcome," to say the least.

On the bright side, the food at the restaurants was decent, and the wait staff was very kind, welcoming and efficient. (Note: the nearby strip of seafood spots in Jimbaran Bay is overrated, overpriced and just not that good.)

In sum, if you want to spend $300+ for a soul-less pseudo-luxury country club that puts you in the cruddiest room possible, go for the Ayana.

stayed here in 2010 on way to F1 in singapore.Collected at airport,as promised, from there service was wonderful, everything explained about hotel and Bali, nothing too much trouble as all staff ready to assist in anything hydro spa was fantastic especially after 16hrs travel from UK and massage afterwards just set me up for my six day chill out. food was fantastic with plenty of choice for all tastes, resturant on the beach a must, fresh sea food, bar on the rocks amazing, I could go on and on. all in all a great place, right up to the trip back to airport at end with the driver helping me through airport right up to going air side, would go back anytime.
