“World Class - You won't want to leave”

From start to finish a fantastic experience. A special mention must go to Yelly who works on the front desk and organised a fantastic stay. The property itself used to be a Ritz Carlton property that Ayana took over. It has a spa that was voted best in Asia 2 years running and i have to say it really was pretty special. Mainly on the range of treatments offered, not quite as intimate as some smaller boutique hotels but top notch all the same. There are 3 pools, including the amazing infinity pool by the Rock bar. The only negative points, and i am being super picky here was that the lifts could do with changing (i wasn't the only guest confused by the 1994 buttons) and also no wifi for hotel guests by the rock bar or inifinity pool by the rock bar.

You can watch a great sunset and sunrise by the jetty and the property itself it huge. I only wish I had spent more time here.

Room Tip: Get a sea facing room it's worth it as the view is so good to the bay.

This is as close to perfection as it gets. After a 7 ay stay in a one-bedroom ocean villa I feel more relaxed than I can remember for years.

The villa comprises a lounge room, bedroom and huge bathroom and dressing rooms but the best feature is our private plunge pool and adjoining day lounge (big enough for 4) overlooking the ocean. Sitting there and watching the fishing boats drift by is as good as it gets.

The hotel offers everything you can imagine for a holiday - a selection of restaurants, multiple pools, a kids club, a mini golf course and the best spa and massage facilities I have experienced.

As villa guests my wife and I had a butler on call 24 hours a day, buggy service when we didn't feel like walking (it's a big property) and priority access to the sensational rock bar which is accessed via a small lift. Our villa was equipped with a coffee machine, a fully stocked mini bar and complementary packets of nuts were replenished twice daily.

As with any hotel there can be minor frustrations - occasional language issues and poor service in the Italian restaurant Sami Sami, being the biggest, but the other restaurants, especially the Indian were very good.

The remoteness of the property might be an issue for some guests but taxis can be had for US$10 an hour and there is a Mini Mart convenience store (that also sells alcohol at good prices) about 10 minutes away. We only left the property twice for shopping expeditions, and a superb dinner at Ku De Ta which was all we needed but it wouldn't suit someone looking for the night life in Kuta.

It's not cheap but you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: If you can manage a villa you won't be disappointed.

This hotel is a world class resort. The grounds are impeccably maintained, the hospitality is very warm, the food is great at all the restaurants, the vibe and scene is exactly what you want--whatever that is. Meaning that if you want quiet, serene, peaceful moments, you can find those. If you want the DJ club / dance atmosphere, you can find that. If you want the most beautiful spa in the world, you can find that on property. If you want a beautiful private beach (meaning that people don't approach you every 5 min trying to sell you something) they have that as well. Everything about this property is really first class. We tried all restaurants from the foodie heaven, Dava (perfect) to the beach grill, Kisik (fresher fish is impossible) to the gorgeous breakfast buffet and they were all great. The warmth of the people must be mentioned. I have yet to meet kinder, warmer, more sincere people. Would highly recommend this property.

I'm yet to find a flaw at this hotel, there is something for everyone. Impeccable service, amazing Spa, amazing food, spectacular views, friendly people. Negatives? Mmmmm. .. In August at 4pm it gets really hot. Did I mention the weather is GREAT..

If you decide to go here i suggest to not go anywhere else. All the facillities are enough for you to pamper your self or experience express-honeymoon with spouse. The food is delicious, they hire the best chefts for their restaurants, the view is astonishing, they have cute mini pretty chapel for those who wanna get married. Not mentioning the super famous rockbar !! Cant describe by words! Google it!! Anyone who is planning to stay there i highly recommend to try the aqua tonic spa. Its the chepest spa compare to the others but really worth it. But the location its little bit isolated from the crowded so as i said bfor. If u go there jus spend your day in there. If u are looking for the more luxury one u shud try the villa!! More private and really beautiful, facillitated by its own pool.

Yes it's gorgeous, Kisik seafood restaurant a must, rock bar a must. Previous reviews will give you more aesthetic details but I feel enough can not be said about the caring and attentive staff. After booking a club room (food and drinks included) we had a surprise upgrade to a cliff top villa with butler service. Well, hello heaven. We were ferried from A to B via golf buggy and any request for ice, etc was on the doorstep in minutes. Spent time in the club lounge, where the staff were extremely attentive without being overbearing. Drink orders remembered, etc. We were especially impressed by Hery, his enthusiasm for his work and desire to please was second to none, what a delightful young man, thanks mate. Very refreshing to see. The Australian hospitality industry has a lot to learn from this well run establishment.

Room Tip: At least get a club floor room. The value for money is good and you'll be treated like royalty.

We just finished our stay for 8 nights in one of the 'Ocean side Villas'. If your budget allows I would only recommend this room type for staying at Ayana.
Once you arrive at the property you soon begin to recognise the detail and attention the staff take to really look after you.
The one bonus of staying in the Ocean Villa is your own 24/7 personal butler who is there to look after your every request. You will receive your own personal mobile phone to carry with you so the butler can be contacted at all times.
Once you check in at the separate 'villa' check in area, you are swept away by private buggy to your own villa complete with private pool, gazebo, separate lounge room, bedroom, walk in robes, very large bathroom and separate bath/spa area. Overall for 2 people the villa is very private and spacious.
The views from each villa is very special and we requested a villa away from everyone else or the most remote so we even enjoyed more privacy and peace with extra special cliff side ocean views.
We also went to Rock Bar each evening for a cocktail whilst watching the sunset. When you stay in a suite you get priority access to the Rock Bar which means you do not have to line up in the queue to get the lift down to the bar, which around sunset the line from non hotel guests wishing to enter is very long. Once you get the very steep lift down you still need to wait for an actual seat at the 'rock bar' which is only very small and seating is limited.
Overall the stay at Ayana was very pleasant and the butler service was very good. A couple of times our butler did forget to make a few bookings but not to worry it is a good offering considering the price of the suite per night.
The hotel restaurants are also worth considering if after a long day you do not wish to leave the hotel. The Four Seasons down the road has a good Balinese restaurant worth the 10 minute taxi ride.
Also the spa facilities are excellent. We had a few massages and the cost/service is worth it.
Please note the Ayana is a long way from mainstream Bali where the W hotel is or Nusa Dua. If you are after complete rest and privacy and not interested in seeing to many sights, then Ayana is for you.

Room Tip: Only worth staying at Ayana for the Ocean Front Villa's/Suites.
