No surprises!!! the Bali Intercontinental Resort at Jimbaran is listed as finalist for Best Resort in the world 2013... and my vote to team at Bali Intercontinental to win this prestigious award it deserved... Last week, we stayed at our 2nd home away and have extended this privilege to our family for a reunion and birthday celebration at the resort... the management and staffs of the Bali Intercon "Never Fails" and again and again taking care of our needs in helping to make our family reunion a priceless memorable event with very nice colourful candle lights, lanterns outdoor dining experience with live musicand sumptuous Balinese traditional buffet... Try them out on your next Bali visit... you will get spoil and never regrets!
Once again to Pak Duchene, pak Bagoes Sapta, ibu Dewi Cakra at Club Intercontinental, pak Budi Asa from Taman Gita... and all staffs at Bali Intercontinental... Merci Beaucoup, Terima Kasih...

Room Tip: Pay extra and stay at the CLUB Singaraja rooms... The best Intercontinental CLUB in the world... not...

By far my favourite hotel in all of Indonesia. I love the food, pools, gym, service and the rooms. if you are ever thinking of staying at the Intercon, you must stay in the club i don't see the point of even going if you don't. You get great access to private pools, free crepes, high tea in the club lounge between 2-4 and special, more luxurious rooms. Every time we have stayed at the Intercontinental we have been blown away by the staffs smiles. By far my favourite hotel for uncountable reasons, whats not to love. X

Has the best and longest stretch of beach in the area. Beautiful garden setting. rooms large with balcony that overlooked the sea. They bring fruit skewers poolside and free gourmet coffee/tea/iced tea in small lobby. I didn't like that there was no ala carte option for breakfast only buffet. ala carte only in room...who wants to eat in room when it is so nice outside? Maybe most had breakfast included in the room rate but we did not. There were a couple of very nice options for breakfast 5 min walk south of resort in a mall.

I was at this hotel for a conference, so I did not bring my family. The room is spacious, but furniture is old and the whole resort has a beautiful garden, but rooms and corridors needs some refreshment as color pallet is really '80s. Breakfast is good, but there was lack of tables and service was bit slow (but hotel was fully booked when I was there). Restaurants are good and in-line priced. Only for lunch most places are closed what is quite inconvenient when the hotel is full house. Bar was quite empty all days I was there and closes early. Very good bed and rooms are quite, I slept well. Bathroom is simple and has not muh ammenditiesThe garden and pools are very nice.

Room Tip: I stayed in the most simple room and that was ok. Probably rooms closer to the swimming pool and/or...

Hi, We chose this hotel over grand hyatt as we were advised that grand hyatt was old and run down a little. due to that we paid a premium as well on the club rooms at intercon. Upon reaching the airport we were expecting an attendant to pick us up but we waited and there was no one. when I called the hotel they sent someone and said that they were not aware about the time we were landing. well noted however ! made reservations directly with the hotel and if they did not have my flight tickets, they could have called or mailed me as they did that for credit card etc. a great hotel with top class service would do that! ignoring the misunderstanding, I was expecting a manager to call or discuss this with us when we were at the hotel but no one bothered to discuss about this. club rooms were ok but need renovation. Hotel is in balinese style but is old and i think newer and fresher places are available for about the same price elsewhere in bali. massage was usd 75 an was ok. Nothing great! So all in all, it was just another ok property for us!
another thing I found was at breakfast the jack fruit and lychee had small mosquitos on them.....

I stayed here for a week with my partner at the end of June/early July 2013. This hotel is a very large setup, spread over 14Ha, with many hundreds of rooms. We booked through an online booking agency, but the hotel website often has prices the same as the "special deals" from other agencies. The hotel follows up your stay with a request for you to write a review.
The staff here are excellent - well trained, helpful, and with the generous friendly nature of the Balinese.
Upon our very late arrival due to a 4 hr delay with our Jetstar flight, we arrived tired, hot, sweaty and not in the best frame of mind. We were seated in the big comfortable chairs in the huge lobby area and given a very welcome complimentary big cool drink of fruit punch - a very nice touch.
Check-in was simple and went smoothly - the hotel is very well run as regards record-keeping and accounting.
The porter took our bags promptly to our 4th floor room on the south side of the resort. There are stairs and elevators, and the elevators always worked and came promptly.
The room is large and spacious and well-appointed. The air-conditioning is excellent and fully adjustable.
The room had a sizeable balcony which overlooked large, beautifully-manicured gardens. We did not have a sea view (which would be nice), but we didn't find this a major problem.
The bed was absolutely huge and could have held 4 people.
Unfortunately, we found the mattress way too firm for our liking, and the pillows are dreadful - soft things that your head sinks into within 10 mins, nearly suffocating you.
I feel that a hotel of this standard should be able to offer far more comfortable mattresses and quality latex pillows.
The room we had was quiet - but we occasionally had to endure smoke and cooking fumes from the large cafe area about 500M further south - who specialise in cooking seafood over coconut husks.
These coconut husks give off a dreadful amount of smelly smoke, and it's quite unpleasant being on the receiving end of this smoke if the wind is blowing from the SW or South.
The complex has a medical/nursing room on-site, with a doctor in attendance. The use of these facilities is at your extra cost.
Most staff speak fairly good English, but some have poor English skills. However, they are very willing to learn better English and will often engage in conversation with you to improve their conversational skills.
There are many restaurants and cafes within a km of the hotel, if you find the hotel food boring and limited. We found the hotel food good, but expensive, so we tried out surrounding cafes with mixed results. There are some good cafes within one kilometre of the hotel - but be aware that the footpaths are often non-existent, and if they exist, they are in terrible shape with many broken manhole covers. The traffic is always very heavy, but they will stop for you if you want to cross the road.
The pool here is magnificent, and there are wading pools and childrens pools as well. The complex is right on the beach, and the beach is quite good, although we noticed a few wandering stray dogs and some rubbish. However, this is Bali, so that is to be expected.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay here, and found very little to fault with the hotel.
The mattresses and pillows need upgrading, and one annoying event was, the staff took over half an hour to bring down our suitcases from our room, when we were already on a tight schedule.

Room Tip: A sea view room is nice, but it could be noisier, as they overlook the most-used areas.
