Description: Balique is an original eatery found in the relaxed fishing village of Jimbaran, in stunning southern Bali, now home to outstanding world-class resorts and villas. This traditional seaside village and Balique suit each other harmoniously, as Balique pays homage to all the best of the Indonesian archipelago under its whirring fan-open style roof, in both the style and cuisine stakes. If you appreciate an authentic step into the past in stunning surroundings teemed with objets d’art, as well as a delicious menu, fabulous cocktails as well as an extensive affordable wine list – you have arrived home. And for sure, the warm décor along with the charming team of staff will make sure you completely feel at home here – welcome to the amazing world that is Balique and allow yourself to forget the fast, modern world outside, and be at peace in a bygone era of pure sensuality.

“Good atmosphere”
Reviewed November 17, 2013 via mobile

The Balique was recommended by our hotel driver and turned out to be a nice surprise. Even though it is located next to a busy road, the atmosphere was nice and quiet, efficient waiters and very good food. Highlights were the tuna tartare and the nasi campur. We have been there twice already and can fully recommend it for very good food at a higher than normal level and a fair price.

“Great ambiance and good food”
Reviewed November 9, 2013

The restaurant has very nice ambiance due to the nice decoration and architeture. The service is excellent with helpful and smiling staff.

The food was good. Both Western and Indonesian were good, all of them have a French/Mediterranean twist.

They also have a nice drink selection, if you just want to do a happy hour there.

“Great Mood & Good Food”
Reviewed November 8, 2013

The design of the interiors, the music and the lighting all contribute to create an intimate and romantic mood in this indonesian restaurant with colonial-French vibes.
We went there for dinner and we didn't regret it. It has been one of the best restaurant in the island of Bali we have tried and if you are in the Jimbaran area, you can't miss it.
The food is typical indonesian but many dishes are made under the influence of the french cuisine and its flavors, giving light to some particular and unique taste you will never find in the many traditional (indonesian) restaurants all over the island.

“Charming place w/ meh food”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

The food:

I came here a few times for lunch and was able to try out various dishes. The indonesian dishes were tasty but the western options weren't anything special. The pizzas are just outright horrible. Bad crust and way to greasy. Sweets were tasty though (get the cheesecake with lemon confit).

Prices:

Cheap for westerners but a bit high for bali.

Service:

Great service but a bit slow at times.

“Nice dinner in beautiful setting”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

Aside from the usual dishes you can find everywhere, the restaurant focuses on Mediterranean and Middle-eastern food. They also have a nice cocktail selection. The best part about it has to be the ambiance - very nice and relaxing setting (too bad about the little bit of street noise...)
