“Fantastic hosts, great affordable accommodation and delicious breakfasts”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2013

Our family of two adults and an almost-5-year-old had the pleasure of staying at Bob and Lydia's B&B for 4 nights in their deluxe room. We got good service even before we arrived in Bali, and Bob would reply my emails and answer my questions quite promptly. Bob gave us many good tips (especially regarding immigration stuff) that saved us a lot of time and headache. The Room A was perfect for us - plenty of space, a separate area and bed for the boy, and our breakfast table was just outside our door! It was interesting using the outdoor shower, but there was also an undercover shower and a bathtub (our boy refused to use the outdoor shower). Location-wise, it was near the Ayana where we attended a wedding, so it was convenient for us, and it was an easy taxi ride to the rest of the Jimbaran Bay area. Organising a driver through Bob was easy, and that is really the way to get around Bali. The food was amazing! Lydia makes fresh pastries every morning (she wakes up at 4am everyday!) and they are fabulous. In addition to pastries, we enjoyed fresh fruits and could choose breakfast items to be cooked to order (there are more details and photos of the breakfast at my blog: http://expatgourmand.blogspot.hk/2013/10/aahh-bali-bed-breakfast-jimbaran-bali.html). We also enjoyed Lydia's cooking for dinner one night, and the food was delicious! We had a really nice stay at this B&B, and we know where to stay when we come to Bali again!

I stayed in the B&B on April 2013 for 2 nights with my mother. Bob and Lydia were amazing hosts, and they instantly make you feel welcome! This B&B is not located a pristine beach or whatever, but if you pair it up with a cool driver such as Dewa, you know you wouldn't miss anything substantial. I am not a fan of beach-front resorts, so this place was perfect!

Aahh Bali is quiet. Lydia has cats so if you prefer to have no animals around, you should NOT be here. Take note that the cats are quiet and basically don't bother you. I can't say they're friendly though... just cats being cats.

The best thing about Aahh Bali would probably be their food. Breakfast is AMAZING. It's worth waking up early, I swear. Lydia prepares the most awesome pastries. You can even pack them away with you so you can have some munchies on the way to the temples. The temples are scattered all over Bali and it takes long drives to get there. Food is always welcome in Dewa's car.

The room we got was spacious for 2 people. We especially loved the outdoor bathroom. It was perfect for bathing under the moonlight. Outside, they have a small pool by the dinner area.

All in all, our stay was relaxing. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Spent 5 nights at Aahh Bali in August. Hosts were amazing - we arrived at midnight but they still came to pick us up. They offered out of hours pick up at 10,000 rp which is not bad, and they came with bottled water and fresh face towels which was really refreshing.

We stayed in Room C which was the right size for us. This only has an outside shower though so people may not like this but we didn't mind. Bear in mind also that the hot water was at times lukewarm which I think is probably because it is solar powered and there were a few cloudy days. They provide toothbrushes and shampoo and there are towels (for bathroom and pool towels as well) which are really handy. There is was aircon and a fan available and we probably didnt need it but we were grateful for the mosquito netting around the bed.

Pool is lovely, there is an entertainment room but we didn't really use it. We ate at the B&B (one night we ordered takeaway and the other night we ordered food from Lydia which was very yummy!). Bob and Lydia definitely go out of their way to make your stay comfortable giving us good deals on a private speed boat to nearby islands (which does include fishing), and whitewater rafting which I definitely recommend. I would advise putting valuables in the safe thought just in case as we may have misplaced our headphones in the room - although Bob did his best to try and find them. There is a salon nearby for massage etc which was really good to go to. It is not the most accessible of places - and you would probably need a driver for the day which through bob is around 350,000rp (for the south of the island) which is not bad as we had Jimmy (their driver) for 9 hours - great guy who spoke good english and let us do what we wanted.

Tough to find something original to say in complimenting this establishment and its outstanding hosts Bob & Lydia as there is a lot of praise that has gone before and it is all thoroughly deserved!
Bob & Lydia really go the extra mile in making your stay at their home and in Jimbaran an enjoyable one. They also have great knowledge and insight into onward journeys in Bali and are happy to share their experience with you.
They are equally happy to leave you alone if that is the mood that you are in.
During our three night stay we had limited time to explore but can thoroughly recommend hiring a driver and doing a blitz-tour of the finest surfing beaches in Bali (even if you are not a surfer).

Like all of the reviews my partner and I had a wonderful stay at the Aahh B & B due to the warm and friendly hospitality of hosts Bob & Lydia. They have a lovely place to relax and wind down away from the frenetic pace of Seminyak etc. Whilst it may be a little tricky to find it offers an Oasis, with a refreshing pool and lovely food provided. (Whilst we stayed a little while ago it is clear that the high standards are still maintained. We appreciated that nothing was too much trouble even the lift to the airport. Indeed leaving was like saying good bye to old friends!)

Room Tip: All rooms are lovely but the ones on the ground floor are bigger.

We had 2 nights here and it was great- as all the reviews state, Bob and Lydia are perfect hosts. I had to change my booking twice and it wasn't any problem- Bob was very understanding and nothing was too much trouble. Because we changed our plans, we ended up staying in the upstairs room ( which was perfectly adequate ) but next time we would stay in one of the larger rooms. the pool was refreshing and the breakfasts fabulous. Although it was not close to anything, we found several little warungs handy and only a taxi ride away( although they found it difficult to find at night!) They deserve their high ratings on trip Advisor- I know how much effort and passion it takes to get such consistent reviews.

Room Tip: choose one of the downstairs rooms

We decided to stay two nights at Bob and Lydia's place... and we were not expecting to live in a so paradisiac place! Everything was perfect.
The room as well as the whole house is beautiful. The staff is so kind and cheerful.
You can count on Bob and Lydia, the owners, to take care of you and give you the best advises on what to do , where to go etc.
We felt like VIP!
