Was skeptical about the quality of the seafood as it was my second time in Jimbaran. The first time (back in 2011) was a great disappointment at another restaurant (over grilled and tastless).

Although it was romantic eating under the stars with candles, it was a challenge for us; struggled to see what we were eating in the dim lighting so we had to ask for more candles which were happily provided to us. What made up for it was the food, friendly staff, sound of the waves and just being by the beach.

The menu has prices listed on it so we were assured that we were not going to be overcharged. We ordered 2 seafood sets (I think IDR 230,000 and IDR 260,000) and a portion of chicken sate/satay; more than enough for 5 adults and a 3 year old. No regrets coming here. Enjoyed their simple fish soup and cucumber and tomato salad. Loved their homemade sauces that complimented the seafood; minced garlic in oil, lemongrass chili and garlic chili. The seafood was grilled to prefection; juicy. Definitely will come here again. Will order ala carte next time instead (strongly recommend ordering the red snapper, prawns/shrimps, squid).

They provide one-way transport back to your hotel (depending on location of course). We missed the sunset so make sure to arrive there by 5.30pm.

Quite a difficult place to find with both our chauffeur and taxi driver not knowing where it is.

The restaurant was totally no-frills especially when you compare it to the seafood places at the Four Seasons area of Jimbaran.

The food, however, was excellent and the staff were friendly.

We had jumbo prawns, deep-fried squid and clams which were served with very tasty condiments.

Thoroughly enjoyed - it's casual & reasonably priced in a pretty great setting. We had Pkt 2 - 280k rp for two people which included salad, soup (which wasn't flash & I don't know why they bother) then what u come for - 3 beautifully grilled pieces of fish (we chose barracuda), 8 clams in a tomato chili sauce, 8 succulent juicy big prawns, 2 crab & rice. The seafood was beautifully spiced - you shouldn't do a trip to Bali without dinner on Jimbaran Bay & Lia Cafe looked after us well.

The fish was fresh and the small salad was quite nice. The waiter forgot my husband's order but I shared my fish with him. The cafe was crowded even at 5.30pm so go early if you want a good table. I have eaten at many of these cafes over the years and this one in our opinion, was about average- all of them seem pretty much the same to me.

Sure, if you are looking for a top service and fancy atmosphere - this place not for you! This place for real tasty seafood lovers with sunset view. Barracuda is highly recommended. Crabs, lobsters, king prawns - for sure for lovers. All simply homemade grilled on coconut shell. For beverages not so many choice. Beach, sand, fisherman, sun down, landing planes... Mmm... Be prepared to look for LIA cafe - it's not written with the big sign, but you will see the name on the window from the beach and T-shirts on staff. We always come back to LIA every time we visit Jimbaran. Tip: all drivers try to bring you to the new area of Jimbaran bay. You should insist to bring you to the OLD area near Keraton Jimbaran hotel. Definitely we will come back again. Tomorrow)
