“Value for money”
Reviewed March 5, 2013 via mobile

Overall, the hotel looks a little tired especially from the outside but its value for money for the price that you pay. The only disappointing part is that we got a room (107) with a ‘forest’ view even though we requested way before for a room with a better view after reading the comments that not all rooms had a good view. We requested for a change but they were full. On the plus side, the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Even if their transport is not available to take you out, they are able to arrange a taxi for you. Cost of their internal transport is reasonable and comparable to the cost of taxi.

We ordered room service a couple of times and the food is not bad, above our expectations for a small hotel. We also ordered pizza delivery which the front desk helped us to call and describe our hotel location. Do remember to get a map or address of the hotel as not many taxi drivers know of the location. They also had a massage and spa place in the hotel. The 15 mins free massage was great (masseur had skills), a pity they close early (5pm) on a Sunday otherwise we would have extended the massage.

Not sure what I expected, the photos looked promising and the reviews were good so thought I would give this place a shot but only for three days.

Should have stayed much longer, an error which will be rectified next year.

Was greeted by the owner, who was a bit of a misery and thought he was just a grumpy staff member - wasn't too good a first impression, a smile costs nothing.

The accommodation was amazing, I was going to say the room, but it's so much more than that. To begin with the pictures really don't do the site justice. There is the main area with bed, settee, all beautifully clean and new. There is a curtained partition and beyond this there is a lovely set of stone vanities and hanging space, with an amazing outdoor bathroom.

The pool and cabana area is just right for a relaxing cool down at the end of the day, with a view from the cabana that I loved.

While it isn't really at Jimbaran itself I didn't mind that it was off the beaten track. I had the good fortune of having an amazing driver called Ari. I can say that Ari was very professional, and with just the right amount of humour and knowledge. I would outline where I wanted to go at the beginning of the day and never had to remind Ari -I was thoroughly impressed. Well done.

Security guards and gardeners were also very nice.

The only thing I would say that really could do with addressing, is the room temperature, I found that the air conditioner just didn't manage to cool the accommodation to my liking.

The hotel offered a free pickup from the airport. Big rooms (not outdated at all!) with an outdoor bathroom. The wifi signal in our room was weak. Beautifull views from the restaurant and the cliff edge rooms, a private pool with an overlooking gazebo . Very good food at the rooftop restaurant. Drinks and cocktails were excellent quality, but we didn't like the white housewine. We would like to suggest a different Balinese wine. Tours and taxi service available at local prices but be aware of the traffic problems around Jimbaran and Kuta. It took us several hours to reach Tanah Lot.
No five stars? It was our first stop in Bali and we loved all the facilities, but our second stop
(Ubud area) had just that little extra.

We spent 3 wonderful nights there. It was exactly what we were after ,we wound down and were ready to tackle the rest of our holiday around the islands. Wonderful plunge pool and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The king size bed was fantastic. A little bit out of the way but the hotel offered return transport at a reasonable cost which was comparable with the local taxis. If you wanted to walk to the main street that was about 10 - 15 minutes. When we were there restaurant was being renovated but that didnt present a problem to us.
The staff were very friendly, we arrived after midnight and the driver who picked us up from the airport drove us around so we could find a meal.

A fantastic place in Bali.
The staff was really helpful, generous, honest and funny. Our driver Putu was caring about us every minute of our trips around Bali. He even offer to borrow us money, one day we were going to few theaters and we forgot we should pay for the ticket so we just took money for our lunch. Putu, offered generously money from his pocket to us. At the end we had enough, but this small gestures tell a lot about people.

We are very happy with the service, everyone was excellent! The place was magic. The first room downstairs on the left it is a bit outside the hotel and that gave us plenty of privacy. We could swim naked in our private pool, something impossible for the other vilas with pool, cause it is the only one placed in a way it is hard for people in the hotel to see you. Only you can be seen from upstairs (the restaurant) if they climb on the table placed on the sides, could be possible but difficult ^^

A great place to go with your love one!

Located miles up a dirt track, terraces without views (except the roof in front),a mosquito infested and outdated room, limited wifi and few TV channels, randomn construction work, a broken shower. In short, this place is a rip-off.

Thank you Simon S for your commentary made on all the public sites available to you
Jimbaran Cliffs is a new hotel designed for couples to relax in a peaceful environment with views and the luxury of their own private pool. Balinese exterior design with Western interior finish has received nothing but praise from guests who understand Jimbaran Cliffs is about relaxation and is not on a beach.
Your booking for one night, checking in at 1800 and checking out at 0900 the next morning, gave management and staff few options. I was contacted by the front office and advised you where upset at not being on a beach. I provided you and your guest a free ala carte breakfast, with the hotel fully occupied there was nothing else I could do with a one night booking.
We have tried to make it clear we are not on the beach, “10 minutes drive to Nusa Dua, Tanjung Benoa and Jimbaran Bay”. For the Bay View suite we have included several guest photographs showing the views over the Cliff Edge suite roof towards the Bukit. Of the 100 or so photographs, none show a beach
Jimbaran Cliffs television includes three settings, TV for local channels, AV1 for DVD’s which are provided free of charge from the library at the front desk and AV2 for satellite channels (117 stations and 17 radio stations).
Jimbaran Cliffs control the water pressure in our showers to conserve water. If any guest complains about the pressure, we can easily make the pressure adjustment.
Pest control is carried out by Jimbaran Cliffs on a weekly basis, I live here and only occasionally we will have a few mosquitos carried by the breeze.
Jimbaran Cliffs stopped the renovation work in our restaurant for the peak period from December 20th to January 5th. We are building a second bar and raising the floor level, so guests seated in the restaurant have a much better view over the new breakfast bars. Work will be completed by the 14th February.
We understand the disappointment of a guest arriving at a hotel, expecting to be on a beach, and try our best to help these guests.

Putu,
Manager

We stayed in the penthouse villa for 5 days last week. Scored a fantastic deal off of booking.com which seemed to good to be true but lucky for us it was! The penthouse villa houses 10 people and would be great for a family or group to stay in.
The outside of the villa was sensational with a beautiful infinity pool and 2 massive cabanas to loung in. The pond with fish and frogs in was lovely too. The only reason I haven't given this 5 stars is the inside looked a bit tired. A few taps didnt work and the place could do with a bit of freshening up. But my husband said I was being too fussy so maybe I am! Other than that staff were so lovely and food in the restaurant was affordable and nice. Views from the room and restuarant were breath taking especially at night where you see fireworks being set off all across the bay! This is isolated but we LOVED that as after a day shopping or being harrased on the beach you just want peace and quiet. Its only a 10 minute drive to Nusa Dua and the hotel offers rides in for only about AUD$2.50 If you do catch a taxi make sure its a bluebird taxi as they use a meter and the meter adds up to about $3. The first taxi we used didnt have a meter and charged us $8! If you are looking for a hotel that is not full on millions of tourists and away from the hustle and bustle than this is your place!

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms higher up as the lower ones wouldn't have as good a view.
