“Turned out okay.....”
Reviewed December 21, 2012

My wife wanted to try this restaurant, was expecting an another round of disappointing hotel food, but this turned out okay. The grounds on which this restaurant sits was magnificient, felt as if i am in kyoto again. Ordered a Teppanyaki set and a sashimi set. The sashimi was ok, with the exception of the unfresh swordfish. Teppanyaki chef was entertaining as he was clowning around using his chef hat as a bin for discarded food. The seafood was mediocre, howver the beef tenderloin was grilled well. I went on to order another round of veal tenderloin, very tasty in the butter soya red wine concoction of a sauce. I had a sashimi dinner set, 3 grilled oysters, teppanyaki for 1, veal tenderloin, 2 heinekein, 2 x 180ml sake, USD 260. I won't say this is cheap, but neither would i say this is expensive. My recommedation is to go easy on the alcohol, forget the medicroe sashimi, go for their beef, very nicely done here. (teppanyaki seafood - not very good in terms of quality and skill of cooking....)

“Sushi or tepanyaki - both very good”
Reviewed November 21, 2012

I have been to KO a number of times now, as we usually stay at the Intercon while in Bali. We usually sit at the tepanyaki bar, but on this night we tried the sushi area - not a bar but a dining room. The service at KO is always good and there was no exception this time. We chose the sushi bar because the size of the portions at the Tepanyaki bar are too big, and it is possible to order tepanyaki style dishes anyway. We have a sashimi dinner (shared) which was fresh and delicious, followed by miso glazed black cod and a tepanyaki steak - with a balsamic tepanyaki saude. Different, but very tasty.

The food is cooked well, and we were not disappointed - our only comment, which is common to dinining in asia is it may be best to order your start first, and then only order your main course when done - saves having an empty plate immedately replaced by a full one.

The drinks list is impressive but as usual, pay attention to the pricing. Bali is expensive for wine!

“Good service, good food”
Reviewed September 21, 2012

We dined at the sushi part of the restaurant and found the food to be good but not great. In hindsight it may have been better to try the teppanyaki as this gets great reviews. The service was friendly and prompt.
