booked for 2 nights for 3 bdr villa for my family of 6 including 2 children. the villa is old though averagely maintained. On our arrival the rooms were smells like old carpet, and they were hot. the rooms are all located either on the top floor or the bottom floor. the middle floor is dedicated for the living room. the stairs were narrow and steep and dangerous for children. in the morning as we had breakfast the egg had a fly in it scrambled along with the eggs. complete with its legs and wings. We moved out that very morning to another hotel. we asked for a transport to take us to the other hotel an they charged us another USD10 for it which after i complained they decided to waive it. Maybe its ok if you stay for a yoga workshop but as far as holiday goes esp with family its not the place to go.

We stayed at Anahata for a week for our honeymoon. There may not be alot to do at the resort or immediate vicinity, but the location is stunning, the resort is beautiful and secluded and it was absolutely perfect for our honeymoon. Off the beaten track and romantic. We couldn’t have been happier.
The villa’s are grand and huge. Seem designed for 6 people comfortably (3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, perfect for groups or large families), so the two of us had more than enough space! Small private pool too. And small kitchen suitable for cooking.
Staff were friendly and went out of their way to please us and feed us anytime of the day or night. Massage, yoga and other services on call. Massage package was quite special. We felt really spoilt.
Tranquil restaurant overlooking rainforest, lovely pool, peaceful spa, secluded river at bottom of the resort. Lots of stairs to keep you fit. Breakfast gets boring after a few days, however after travelling another month in Java, breakfast is served almost the same everywhere you go. Anahata breakfast was one of the best compared to the other 10 or so hotels we stayed in across the country.
Shuttle service to Ubud was free and fine, and we found Ubud a nice relaxing town. No beach activities obviously, but nice to go overseas and not see 1000s of other Australian’s! (as you do in Kuta etc).
All in all, could not imagine a better place for our honeymoon. Beautiful place. Lovely staff. Recommend highly.

Good view, quiet, located in the valley and surrounding by the rice field.
Really feel in the nature ubud environment.
The water flow sound from the river will makes you feel peaceful while enjoying the spa.
Don't forget to join the Yoga Class to makes you healthier.

Room Tip: Villas near to the reception have a short distance to walk. It's better not to stay adjacent to...

It's a pity the owners of this resort don't stay here as they may then see the need for change. Badly in need of $'s being spent, poor accommodation, run down in many areas ie spa, no WIFI unless in reception, no computer to use, the ability to sun bathe by the pool a joke, 2 very old sun beds and one of them broken! Food boring and glad to go out to eat! Staff friendly but they look bored. If the owners don't do something soon it will just gradually die which is a shame as the location is great as it's on the Ayung River with the beautiful jungle surrounding it. Not worth what we paid at all plus I didn't even have a bathroom attached to my bedroom!

We stayed at Anahata for a month for a yoga teacher training. The villas and rooms are wonderful as is the staff. The hotel is off the beaten track from many of the Udud central so requires a short car ride (or scooter rental) but its location is stunning and over looking the rice paddies and river and the vista is stunning. If you are planning on doing a yoga stay, we highly recommend it, the studio is beautiful and peaceful and the room is airy and has all amenities. The staff is helpful and can aide you in getting any special treatments you may desire (with very knowledgable practitioners. We would definately return. It is a great combination of comfort and luxury, coupled with an organic feel that doesn't feel too modern to be in Bali.

Room Tip: For the whole family, rent an entire villa or stay on a top floor.

Anahata Villa was 3 storey with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The masterbedroom occupied the upper floor and the 2 other bedrooms on the lower floor with family and dining room on the middle floor. The villa itself was very spacious and could accomodate 8 - 10 people easily. The villa configuration had its drawback because the occupants needed to move up and down the narrow stairs between family and bedrooms/ bathrooms. It was definitely not suitable for people with mobility problem and young children. The villa required better maintenance especially with mosquito nets on ventilation windows and the living room sofa. The kitchen was OK with large fridge and microwave. Anahata's location was a bit off from Ubud centre. The hotel supplied shuttle service between hotel and Ubud centre; however, private/ rented vehicle was probably a better choice.
The swiiming pool was clean and cool. It was a nice place to swim whilst listening to the river flow way under.
The best part of the hotel was its restaurant with fascinating sceneries of forests and monkeys jumping from trees to trees in the far distance. Very tranquil and peaceful. Breakfast was average with rice, bread, coffee, tea and juices. For people who could not leave their internet at home, the restaurant was equipped with free Wifi. Quite fast too.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
