Owner description: The Park is divided into seven regions that recreate the natural habitats of our birds, complete with indigenous plant life. You can travel from the deep misty jungle of Sumatra to Far East Indonesia and Papua to discover the native birds from these remote regions. Venture to other tropical continents too. See the South American exotics such as the Golden Macaw and the Congo Grey Parrot from the African Savannah.

The birds are spectacular and the restaurant is also very good. You can have your photo taken with many of the birds.

I have read lots of reviews for this park saying it is too expensive. I would like to respectfully disagree, whilst it may be expensive for Bali, for the experiences you are able to have it is well worth the price of entry. Completely disregarding the reptile park which I believe to be inferior in every way, the Bird Park provided some of our best memories of Bali. The staff are all lovely, going out of their way to do all they can to make your visit special. Unlike many parks where they seem to be doing all they can to get you to buy pictures the staff here will use your camera to take as many pictures holding the birds as you want. We were able to hold a sea eagle. Have hornbills on our shoulders. Feed the lorikeets which was crazy since you can end up with 10 of them on one arm, feed the pelicans (they knew it was coming) and see birds of paradise up close. Their large avaries are truly something special allowing you to come face to face with crested pigeons, large peacocks, cranes and other wonderful birds. This park is tremendous value for what it is, a world class animal exhibit.

This is for the Bali Bird Park + Reptilarium which is right next door.

The wife was skeptical, initially. Boy didn't she swallow her words!

We had a great time at both places. Bird park - plenty of great varieties of birds, many petting areas.... Don't miss feeding time for both the Loris and pelicans. It's a fantastic experience and for some reason not too many people are there for it.

There's a silly 4D show as well - go for it, it's fun, but it's quite silly :D

Reptilarium - another delight. Lots of snakes and lizards. Tip a guide 20k, and she'll help you hold up iguanas, take photos as you pose, etc.

The food is fabulous, had a very good Nasi Goreng.

At $26, some might find it expensive but I thought it was pretty good value for what is a very spacious, very well maintained park and reptilarium.

This park has as its mission the conservation of bird species from across the Indonesian archipelago with special attention to Bali's own highly endangered Bali starling, a startlingly beautiful white bird found only in the West Bali National Park and Nusa Penida. The park includes a restaurant serving typical Balinese cuisine, offers bird shows and opportunities to have your picture taken with the birds (take your own pictures and don't pay the exorbitant prices for the "professional" photos). There's also a display of Indonesia's Komodo dragons and a reptile park right across the road. (Separate admission)

Not sure if this is the Bird/Reptile parks together about 10km between Ubud and Sanur? If so, they now charge about $26/person for BOTH parks (you can't do one or the other). All we wanted to see was the Komodo dragons as advertised. So, we went to the Reptile Park and saw lots of snakes, lizards, etc. "Where's the Komodo dragons?" "In the Bird Park." "There's supposed to be some here!" "Oh - they died 2 months ago."

So, we went to the Bird Park. Lot's of parrots, herons, etc. from various parts of the world and seem to be photo friendly. IE: they sit on your arm, shoulder, etc. and pose. "Where's the Komodo dragon?" "Up there around the corner." So, we went up there, around the corner and no dragon. We asked another guy. "Follow me." So we went around a few more corners and there in a small sunken garden was a 50 cm (at most) Komodo dragon sleeping under foliage and hardly visible. "It's just a baby, his parents died 2 months ago." Aaagh.
