If you enjoyed watching "Phuket's Fantasea" and "Bangkok's Siam Niramit" shows, chances are you'll be entertained by "Bali Agung" show at Bali Theatre. The theatre itself is located inside the compound of the "Bali Marine & Safari Park" (an unusual location I must say). In order to see this show, you have to purchase the costly safari park packages unfortunately. However, this review is for the "Bali Agung Show" only as the Park itself is a disappointment. The show itself is spectacular with a cast of hundreds although the narration of the story could be a bit clearer and concise. Now come to the part that really irked me. First, the air-condition in the theatre is set to a temperature that it's hardly different from the humid condition outside the theatre. I was perspiring throughout the show. Then, there was the collection of personal camera counter which is so disorganised and chaotic. A lot of people are just pushing and cutting queue (in fact there's no queue at all) to collect back their cameras. Tempers were flaring all over the place and the staff did not help by not being fast enough in retrieving the cameras. There were depository numbers given to everyone who deposit their cameras and yet some of the staff managed to retrieve the wrong cameras to some frustrated customers. They should learn on how Phuket and Bangkok managed a system that is organised, flawless with queue moving quickly. My advice is that the Bali Theatre should be on its own location and this kind of show should be more appropriate fore an after-dinner affair.

This is the first time I visited this theatre. It is located in the area of Bali Safari and Marine Park. The price also included the safari journey, or you can ask the guide to buy you a ticket to this theatre. Please don't miss this attraction,, they are really amazing... The light, sound, story, really really touching. They can take you deep down to the storyline, unfortunately, you are not allowed to record or shoot the show, due to regulation and trademark. But it was really big theatre with hundred team I think. About one and half hour, the dancer give you an amazing performance. But that's pity without snack. So, please make sure you go to bathroom first or already have lunch before entering the stage...

Bali Agung needs better promotion. Even the title of this review under Bali Theatre is misleading.
I first visited with my son and daughter in law (Balinese) and 2 year old grandson.
We were ALL like little kids.. oh-ing and ah-ing - amazed when a parade of elephants, gorgeously costumed, paraded across the stage to start what was a marvelous performance.
I won't reveall all the highlights, and spoil it for you, but imagine a real lake, with a flock of performing ducks, fishing prahus, and birds.
The story was a very clever way to tell Balinese historical folk tales and the sound and special effects were world class. I just loved it!

We chose the friday evening show and we were delighted to watch the performances by humans and animals alike. The Balinese ancient story is told through music and expressions and hardly any dialogues. The entire set was majestic and all performers are extremely talented!

Lovely air conditioned theatre in which to try to absorb some traditional culture. Sadly that is where the experience also finished.. Our group of 6 all found time for a little sleep... The colour and pageantry was on a grand scale but still not enough to capture our interest.. All in all it was a great cure for insomnia
