This trip was privately arranged for a group of 8 during a recent cruise with a stop in Bali (We were part of the group that Larlmonkey reviewed below). This was a spectacular day and overall one of the best days of our 14 night cruise. Our group was small, even so, we had 2 people during driving time (Yoga the owner and one other), and while cycling we had 3 guides as well as a van operator driving behind us.

Our group was picked up at the cruise pier right on schedule and transported by van, Yoga greeted us and gave us commentary on the local aspects of life and all the sights we saw along the ride. Our first stop was a coffee plantation to try all the different coffee and tea, then we drove up to a mountain for photos (about 15 minutes from the coffee plantation). After taking pictures we were brought back down the mountain a little to meet our bikes and tour guides.

Once on our bikes we had about a 1 1/2 hour to 2 hour ride mostly downhill on roads through villages and rice fields. The roads weren't overly busy, and even though I am generally very uncomfortable biking (ie. not very good at it!) I had a great time!! Yoga is a great guide and will stop at any point you want to explain what you are seeing or let you take pictures.

After our bike ride we received ice cold towels to cool down with, and were back in the van to go to Yoga's home for lunch. His home is absolutely beautiful and you receive commentary about the homes and the Balinese way of life. Lunch is a DELICIOUS buffet cooked by Yoga's wife, every single one of us went back for seconds... and thirds :-)

Even though we would have loved a little more biking time, we all agreed that this was a fantastic trip, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour to others!!

Thanks Yoga!!!!

Thank Andrea S

This is a must do away from traffic and crowds.
My wife and I joined 6 others on this trip during a cruise. We were met at the port on time by Yoga, the owner and a driver. They took us to the top of the volcano a 45 minute drive giving us loads of useful information re. the country, religions, history etc.on the drive up stopping at a small coffee plantation which are run by families. They also grow all kinds of fruit, herbs and vegetables.
We then sat at a table and given several different samples of their coffee and tea some very unusual. You are then given the opportunity to purchase some of these.Among our purchases was a chilly chocolate that blows your head.We also bought some herbs that are hard to find in our part of UK.
After a photo shoot at the top,we drove down part way to collect our bikes. This then lead to a fantastic bike ride through the countryside and villages. We stopped for lunch at Yoga's lovely house where we were greeted by his mother, wife and children. His wife prepares a superb buffet lunch of local foods for you and he explains how his home works.
After the lunch we cycle further down to the van and returned to the port.
All in all an excellent way to spend 7-8 hours. The cycling was only about 2 hours which I would have preferred to be longer and was not too strenuous. The van was always handy if the cycling was too tough for anyone and there was a tandem for which one of the guides would take a guest if necessary. All this worked out as there was 8 of us at $25 per person, and the best day of our cruise.

Don't bother with the interminable Internet search of countless bike tour companies. Save yourself some time and just book this one. Balinese owned and run, small groups (Just my family of 4 today), great value, scrumptious authentic Balinese lunch served with an impossibly smiley smile and great scenery and personalized route. Say no more

This is my second cycling tour with Halobike. The first was in Mar 2012. My family had such a great time then that we brought 2 other families this time round to experience this wonderful tour. They were so impressed with Halobike's service and dedication. Their pricing is reasonable too. I applaud to Yoga and his team....Miss Wong Singapore
