“An oasis of tranquility”
Reviewed March 10, 2012

What a wonderful experience, staying at the Kusuma Sari villa. A delight to the senses; surrounded by secondary forest, the villas are at one with nature, and are guaranteed to provide an idyllic holiday. Quiet and peaceful, the sight of butterflies fluttering around; and the sound of crickets are about all you hear. Manager Wayan is welcoming, and his staff are polite and helpful. Local markets are within walking distance; and this is not a touristy spot, so you don't feel the overcrowding of Ubud. Wayan and his staff offer transport into Ubud; and that's really convenient. We really didn't want to leave; but alas, reality has to bite sometime. We are hoping to return soon. (Adrienne and Adrian Pereira, Singapore)

We were not expecting the kind of service we received. Attentive and friendly staff. The hotel manager, Wayan is like your long lost friend and much more than a guide or manager. His recommendations are really good and ask him where to find delicious ribs :) not easy to put evety th hing into word s .u git to experience it yourself

But trust me, u'll not regret

We wanted to be away from the maddening crowds and our stay at Kusuma Sari provided us with an ideallic location which was very peaceful. We had the best of both, beautiful cuisine in Ubud and access to everything we wanted. We found the staff at the villa to be very accomodating, friendly and respectful.

Secuity at the villas was excellent and it was interesting to explore the local markets which were walking distance. Great poo,l which we would have used more if there wasn't so much rain. Excellent massage at the villa. Thanks for a memorable stay in Bali.

Great and cosy villa in the surroundings of Ubud far away from the crowd. Wayan, manager of Kusuma Sari Villa & Spa and his team are very friendly and more then willing to help you with everything. Very relaxed environment right in the middle of some rice paddies.

This small group of luxury villas is tucked away in a quiet and beautiful situation, above a river where the town of Sukawati ends and the rice fields begin. There's a pool where I spent happy hours reading in the water to escape the heat, listening to fabulous birdsong (a blue kingfisher likes to drink at the pool), whilst huge butterflies floated around. Flowers dropped off the flame tree into the water. You can explore the bustling town, unvisited by tourists except for its art market, or wander quiet paths in the rice fields. The people are amazingly friendly and welcoming. If you want to explore further, Wayan is an excellent guide. Food was always great, and the fresh tarragon tea one discovery I was able to take back home.

My friend & I stayed at Kusuma Sari Villa a week ago. We chose this one as this we'd like to spend a shopping day at Sukawati market and didn't expect such a warm and impressive welcome. The villa was so nice and spacious. It was right up from the river so we could hear nice water sound. We arrived the villa quite late but villa staff welcomed us very warmly. They are very service-minded staff. In the next morning, breakfast was excellent! and after that we met Wayan, the villa manager, he was so friendly and caring. He suggested what activities we could do and asked us what we preferred to do. We told him we loved shopping well so he took us to the market and recommended good shopping tips for us. If you love shopping, this market shouldn't be missed. The stuff was super cheap. Don't forget to bargain at least 50% and the deal always closed around 60% of the prices. We decided to spend the whole day there as it was raining as we couldn't do rafting in time. Wayan came to pick us up at 5pm he didn't have to do as sending us off was too great already but his service mind so impressed us. After that, we booked the hotel in Ubud (kinda regret that we didn't stay up at Kusuma Sari the following night). However, Wayan also again offered to send us at Ubud Hotel. We were so touching with this service that beyond his duty but he did from his heart. If someone asked me where should he stay up in Bali and he wants peace with warm and attentive service, I would definitely recommend Kusuma Sari.

We stayed in early April for 4 days based on the below Tripadvisor reports, our first trip to Bali, and can echo all previous comments. The villas and gardens are spectacular, and Wayan and his team have a true service orientation. Value for money compared to a large impersonal hotel in a tourist trap location this has to be all the way at the top. Thanks Wayan (&Scott) for sharing your dreams and allowing us into your piece of tranquil paradise. Hope to be back as soon as time allows.
