Try not to forget Pasar Ubud when you go to Bali, as this is a place where you can get a range of souvenirs, fabrics or even foods. Bargaining is a must here. I found it out to be a good experience for being able to stop here.

typical bali market - food, clothes, trinkets. A lot of fun, need to hold your nose in places but it's all part of the experience. You can still get genuine bargains here.

We visited the market before. Our impression now was that is was very crowded and the people were more demanding and pushy than some years ago. The market is one big tourist place, to us nothing local. We visited the Pasar Badung in Denpasar which was very nice and all local people and stuff, we enjoyed it.
Ubud is very touristic but has still a nice atmosphere. It is a perfect place to rent a driver (a reliable and carefull one, the trafic is crazy!) and make some trips. The nature around Ubud is stunning!! We had a great driver who showed us the more 'behind' places in Bali away form all the tourist crap as you can see in the pictures!

Stalls facing the main road enjoys the most businesses, and most of them sell clothing.
Don't forget to walk in further into the market to look at other stuff, as this market is of substantial size.
This is a bustling place which sells many handmade stuff, e.g. soap, wood carvings, keychains, clothings etc. A good place to get some cheap souvenirs for friends and folks at home, but you must always remember to bargain! The key to bargaining is to begin with 50% of the offered price, and try to stay there... and after you got your deal, do ask for extra 1 or 2 gifts from the salesperson :)
This market is rather large, and there are many stalls selling the same stuff.
Therefore, check and compare the prices at different stalls before making your purchase.
