Review of Renon Square

Ranked #28 of 176 things to do in Denpasar

This is how the locals of Bali relax. Walks, local food vendors, football, music concerts, and the Monument to Independence. Midway between Sanur and Denpasar it's easy to reach either by a local Beemo (blue minivans that stop where ever you want) or by taxi (Bluebirds are the most reliable). Try the Beemo and you may share it with washer women complete with washing, chickens, school children and other curious and verbal Indonisians saying Hello Mister where you from? Great fun. Enjoy the experience.

You can jogging, doing yourself sport, sitting together your friends while you taste some traditional foods in this place. The place is favourite for socialization specially on Sunday or Saturday morning

At the heart of Denpasar's administrative center, with one-way streets galore, this field is where locals come to unwind in the evenings and weekends. You can catch a glimpse of people practicing Silat or Tai Chi, or even the odd bartender practicing fire-juggling skills with empty bottles. Most people come here to jog or cycle around, though. Lots of street vendors around. No info signage, though. The monument at the center is great to look at at, but not really worth the trouble of obtaining a ticket to get in.

it is a good space in the heart of denpasar anyway and some historical features may attract attentions. But to be honest it is not the first choice venue to visit for common tourist. Feeling the climate and the temperature of denpasar in the noon, it is not a comfortable place to visit also mostly if you take the kids.
