We only stayed one night on our way to Lembongan island. Great place to stay if you want to check out the centre of Denpasar. Clean rooms and friendly service. Great pool. Very helpful staff. We really enjoyed it.

Very spacy and clean apartment; there was even a kitchen. Friendly staff and helpful.
However, taxiservice to airport organized by hotel costs you twice as much as waving a taxi yourself on the street.

The Banyumas Residence is a pleasant, quiet and new hotel. We stayed 4 nights in June 2013. Situated in the heart of the Dempasar, it took about 40 minutes by taxi from Airport to hotel. Though it is more of a chalet than hotel, the double storey room is suitable for family with young and older children. The room is simple and has all the facilities, dinning table, kitchen and relaxation coffee table and chair in front. You can never enjoy this in Singapore if you’re not staying in a terrace. It has it own driveway, a swimming pool and a bar counter. Breakfast can be served at the pool or to your room. You’ll to get the glossary before reaching hotel as the Supermart is farther away. Hotel staff and helper are friendly. Overall, the stay was pleasant, value for money and recommended.

Room Tip: Recommended for young and older children too. A decent and comfortable hotel to stay.

We stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights. Email replies prior to check-in were prompt and polite. We're really satisfied with our stay and we'd like to share our pleasant experience, in detail.

Service: Excellent. Staff were helpful, friendly and polite. Immediately after checking in, the friendly Banyumas staff led us to our room and pointed out the respective amenities to us.

We were lazy to head out to grab dinner and we were craving for pizza, so we decided to order Dominos Pizza but we couldn't quite speak Bahasa. So we eventually requested the help of Banyumas staff and the staff at the reception happily obliged. On a separate night, we wanted to book a table for two at a renowned restaurant in Seminyak, but again, we weren't able to converse in Bahasa. We requested for help from the reception and the same staff helped us make the reservation without hesitation. Document printing is also available where necessary.

However, better coordination between the staff is required with regards to the daily breakfast booking. We had to repeat our breakfast orders several times due to miscommunication among the staff. Fret not, this isn't a huge problem unless you're a picky guest.

When we requested for an ironing board and an iron, the Bayumas staff didn't quite understand my accent over the phone, so she decided to walk over to our room to better understand my request (it's quite long walk between the lobby and our room). We requested for ice cubes daily, and they brought it over promptly.

Various staff at the reception as well as the security guards were also friendly and eager to help us. Lastly, late check-out was also provided for us without even having us to request for it!

Room Amenities: Many amenities were only available when requested, such as the ironing board, iron, ice cubes, hair dryer, gas cooker, etc. The in-room minibar lacked variety, but it wasn't too big an issue, there are Minimarts everywhere in Denpasar. There's also a clothesline in our kitchenette which really helped our clothes dry quickly (considering that it wasn't situated in the bathroom instead).

We rented a self-drive car and we were able to park right outside our doorstep - very convenient (especially when it rains!)

Room Service: PRICES ARE AWESOME. Everything is cheap, but the food selection was little. Since they had only a pool bar and a small in-house kitchen, you shouldn't expect the food to taste exceptionally great.

We only had 4 complimentary breakfast choices daily (probably due to off-peak season) and we were only satisfied with the Nasi Goreng or Mee Goreng dish (Fried Rice or Noodles). Regardless, it was definitely cosy to enjoy breakfast at a time of your choice and in your own room.

Location: Smack right in the middle of Denpasar. Hard to find if you're taking a cab from the airport, so just pay for the airport transfer (the driver is really nice too). We drove our own car, so it isn't hard to get to places. Otherwise, just get someone to drive you around!

Room Tip: 1. There are only 3 single rooms, so cross your fingers and hope to be upgraded to a family room (19...

I don't even know where to begin...first, the hotel told us their property was 20 minutes from the airport. It's actually 1 hr, and we didn't encounter any traffic. The hotel is also located in an area with no shopping or restaurants.

Upon checkin, we (family of 6 with four kids) were originally brought to the wrong room. When we noticed the issue, they brought us to a second room that only had three beds but no cot as was requested. About 10 minutes later, they knocked on the door and informed us that they found the correct room. By then, we were unpacked, so I asked them to just bring a sheet and blanket, and one of the kids would sleep on the couch. About 30 minutes later, we still didn't have the sheet/blanket, so I had to walk back to the front desk. The receptionist asked the housekeeping manager to assist, but he literally refused the request to help. I had to get the sheets and blanket myself and bring them to our current room.

The room was not stocked with towels, there was a leftover half-roll of toilet paper and no shampoo. The "kitchen" was completely unfurnished.

Breakfast was awful, and we had to clear the slop left on the tables to find a place to sit. Service was non-existent, and we all got sick.

Please avoid this hotel! The staff attempts to be friendly but they are untrained, and the entire property is mismanaged. There are literally thousands of better options at the same or cheaper prices.

Room Tip: Don't bother!

We stayed here for 2 nights and it was a very nice hotel with friendly staff and good environment.

The location is hard to find, even for a taxi driver. We went thru small streets and dark places (it was night time) before we reached the hotel.

The hotel is unique or more like a motel where you can park your car right outside your hotel room.

We stayed at a 2-bedroom unit for 4 of us. It has 2 floors or rather another room is on the 2nd level access by a small staircases. The rooms are clean and well maintained.

The beds are very comfortable.

It doesn't have a private pool in your room but the swimming pool is quiet. In fact, me & my son were the only people swimming at night and in the morning. The pool is very pretty.

This is so much better than the 3x more expensive "The Jas Villa" which we stayed for the other 2 nights.

We hired a private car, so there is no problem on transport.

Room Tip: Choose a room near the swimming pool.

Stayed here for 4D3N. At first look the place is very well maintained, very clean and its how exactly shown in their website.

Pro's
1. Staffs are excellent. Makes you feel as if at home. The receptionist, cleaner and the security guards, everyone is very friendly.
2. Rooms are very well maintained. Cleanliness is given major priority. Makes your stay very comfortable.
3. Breakfast is really good. During our stay there weren't many occupants, hence limited menu of breakfast. But it was still good. In fact, one of the night we ordered dinner from their menu, was good and worth the price as well. You can have dinner at the poolside bar right after your swimming session. Bar kitchen is opened till 2300hrs.
4. The pool is really lovely! (exactly like shown in the pic). Opened 24 hrs. If no one is using it, then the lights at pool goes off about 2300hrs. But if you're still swimming, just tell the receptionist and they will leave it on for you. And it's all yours.
5. Again, I have to mention about the staff hospitality. On the last day, our flight was at 1600hrs, and asked them if can check out at 1300hrs. Without any hesitation they agreed for it, and without any additional charges too.
6. Anywhere you want to go, just ask the receptionist for a cab, will be there right at the time required!

Con's
1. Some pics shown in the website are not exactly the same as in real. For instance, the bathroom for the single suite bedroom is very small, and same goes for the kitchen as well. We initially thought except for the bedroom concept and upper portion for the family suite, rest would be the same for the single suite room. Leads to minor confusion.
2. There aren't many walking distance tourist spots from the residence. Places like Kuta & Seminyak is about 30 mins away, and will cost about IDR 60,000 one way on average. Sanur beach is about 15 mins away on a less traffic day. Even places like Pasar Badung, Ramayana will take about 20-30 mins drive with the normal traffic condition in Denpasar.

Overall, we had a comfortable stay here. The warm hospitality of the staffs were great, and enjoyed my stay. And yes definitely will stay back here.

Stay period : 7th March - 10th March 2013.

Room Tip: 1. Choose a room where you can get a strong WiFi connection, as the main port is located in certain...
