“Landour, the non commercial side of mussoorie”
Reviewed August 30, 2010

While most of those who have been to Mussoorie will discard it as commercialized, over-crowded, almost 'plains like' sort of a hill station, there is another side to mussourie, just 3kms upwards, this peaceful, bedautiful an charming Landour.

Landor is upwards from the parking area in mussoorie, running through the local cantt market. Marked by sharp and very steep curves, this place falls on the way to the maggi point.

The place is best explored on feet. One can go upto the Church at the 'Char Bazaar', which has 4 shops selling groceries along with amazing maggi, pakoras and chai.

A very homely, where the weather can be enjoyed while listening to your favorite music or completing your novel, which the hectic city life is not allowing you to finish.

A perfect relaxation place for Delhites on weekends or long weekends, plus its quite mild on the pocket too.

P.S: Landour is different from Landsdowne

“Mussooorie-Truly The Queen Of Hills.”
Reviewed July 30, 2010

Mussoorie-A splendid place already popular with tourists specially from the North has grown leaps and Bounds in its attraction.
I had went there just a week ago and this place overwhelms me everytime i go there!

How To Reach-
Mussoorie is closest to Dehradun, which is situated in the Beautiful Valley of Shivalik hills. It is 240 Km from Delhi. To reach here, the most convenient way is via Doon railway Station or the newly renovated Doon Airport Of Jollygrant.Mussoorie is Just an hour drive from Doon.

The Best Time-Is ofcourse either dring summer months-from May to July OR During winter from Nov-Jan(To see beautiful snow!).But,like i said, come any time and Mussoorie's charm still gets you.

The City-The City is crowded with 250+ hotels, which is,both a Good thing and a Bad thing.I suggest-research before-ask people in Doon or search on net for a good hotel so that you don't end up with a raw deal.Still if you land in Mussoorie without Hotel booking,negotiate-its the best way to get fairest deal on Hotels!Explore the City the local way-Walk all around the market and have a feel.Have samosas and chai at a local 'Pahari' Dhaba.Talk to the Locals.

Places To Visit-Lal Tibba,Gun Hill(Via Trolley,ofcourse!,or on foot),Picture PalaceJhulaa Ghar,,Aquarium Museum(At Mall Road),The Tibet Market,Camal Back Road(on Horse),Company Garden,Campty Fall(An hour drive from Mussorie),Bhatta Gaon fall & Shiva Mandir(between Doon and Mussoorie)

Add your own flavours-Please do what we did whenever we went.Eat Icecream in Snow, walk as much in market(do not take richshaws). An also, see the beautiful Doon Vally at Night-Its lighting looks awesome. And then, have Fun as we did. !!
