My husband and I were in Landour for work, but our grown children came to visit us for a week. They stayed at La Villa Bethany and we were in a Hotel nearby. They were treated like family and made some lovely friends in the week they were there, June 16 - 21st. Sunita took such good care of them sending them off on walks with maps and bird books while we were working. she produced the most amazing Indian cuisine; we preferred to eat at La Villa Bethany instead of our hotel. We loved the food and the family atmosphere there, talking to such interesting people around the table, it was fantastic. We will be living in India for four years and plan to stay at La Villa Bethany many times to come. Bravo for your renovation work and continued dedication to the beautiful Landour hillside.

Thank you for taking out the time to review us and I am very sorry for such a delayed response. However you would be glad to know that this time has been well spent in making "your home" more comfortable for all its future guests! We now have a few additions to the house which I am sure you would like.

We have also been busy in taking forward our commitment to the environment and the local community further and are working extensively with the close by villages that were affected by the floods last year. These efforts are now yielding results and we have managed to positively impact lives of more that 500 families. We would love to share all this with you in your future visits.

Looking forward to welcoming you home once again. Take care & God Bless.

warm regards
Sunita

My husband and I stayed in a suite at La Villa Bethany for 3 months. When I read the web site which said "your home in the Himalayas" I was like, that's nice but I'm sure it's not. Well this place is! Sunita, the innkeeper could not be a more kind or generous person. When you stay someplace for a long period of time you have all kinds of needs, sometimes it's directions, a train ticket, where to go on a hike, where to get something in a shop or just a cup of chai after a long day. Sunita is there to provide all those things but never intrusive. She is interesting, knowledgeable and fun.
Her renovation of this place is stunning and has all the modern amenities you could want. They are also very green, they have solar powered hot water and gardens and greens that provide beauty AND food for the place.
Our suite was spacious and had a little patio with a really beautiful view of the Doon Valley. Beds are super comfortable.
If you like you can have dinner with the other guests in the main dining room. We met a wonderful array of people during our stay. I'm not sure if this is public knowledge, but if you mention a favorite food or something you miss from back home (we're from the States), Suita and her staff will try to make it for you. We had all kinds of food while we were there, Mexican, Indian, Chinese and even Lebanese!
Try this place, you will really enjoy living with this beautiful family for days or months.
We don't have children but it's very child friendly with a play ground and lots of outdoor space.

Room Tip: the Shaw suite overlooking the Doon valley and city of Mussoorie is wonderful and quiet

Dear Laurie,

Thank you for taking out the time to review us and other place in Mussoorie. Having spent three months here, you definitely could experience first hand everything that this beautiful city has to offer.

I am glad you enjoyed our "green" initiatives. I promise that next time you are home, God willing, the entire meal would be sourced from our own garden!

Hope you enjoy the rest of your time in India and look forward to welcoming you home soon!

warm regards
Sunita

once you pass char dukaan in Landour, and cross an upscale hotel, reach a quaint Sufi shrine, take the green stairs downhill to reach this beautifull villa in the midst of lush green trees. The welcoming family will look after your minutest needs, from twinings english breakfast tea bags in room to natural toilettories to choice of breakfast n' dinner. We had amazing pancakes n' waffles for breakfast, Lebanese, Indian n' continental fare during our 3n/4d stay. The best part of the stay was to have dinner together with all the guests. The view from our suite was breathtaking. Would love to recommend.

Dear Arun,

It was our pleasure having you and the family stay with us. Being a homestay, we encourage all our guests to interact with each other. As most of our guests stay for an extended period, they not only form great relationships with us but also with each other. Though we have won many accolades, I truly believe this to be our biggest achievement. I am glad that you too enjoyed your time spent with the whole La Villa Bethany family and have yourself become a part of it.

I look forward to welcoming you soon at Your Home in the Himalaya!

warm regards

We stayed at Bethany in month of may in Bedel Suite. It was a wonderful experience, the room was beautiful with an amazing view and the hospitality was great. Landour is one of the most beautiful places, would definitely come back. Had an absolutely good time there. Keep up the good work!!!

Dear Suresh,

thank you for taking out the time to review us. It was wonderful to have you both stay with us and see for yourself our endeavor to preserve and promote the handicrafts of Uttarakhand. At a time when this state has been devastated by calamity, we are more than ever aware of the responsibility to make the lives of our community better by helping them to be more self reliant. I am thankful that you enjoyed the use of local products and we look forward to welcoming you soon at Your Home in the Himalaya!
