My daughter and stayed four days at Ilbert Manor and explored Mussoorie and the surrounding hills and villages. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The hotel staff was fantastic and made the visit memorable. The evening we arrived the staff noticed while checking in that it was my birthday, so baked a surprise birthday cake and had a bonfire! They also took us hiking one day to George Everest's House, and camping one evening. They made us feel like family and went out of their way to make sure we have everything we desired.
The food was the best food I had in India - freshly prepared, a very nice blend of spices, and good variety, and any available time of day or night.
The location was just off the main road, close enough to venture out anytime, but far enough away to get peace and quiet. The room was large and clean, and we had a fantastic view of the Himalayas and the Nag Tibba Range from our room.
I would highly recommend Ilbert Manor, and hope to return some day. I will always remember our stay due to the wonderful hospitality.
