“Finest example of hospitality at its best...”
Reviewed September 9, 2011

i visited the property along with my wife. Without any second thought I could say that it has been one of the best stays of my life. I've travelled to many places and stayed at all sorts of resorts/hotels/B&B inns... but till date this was the best stay... Rooms are extremely cosy, very neat... view from the rooms are literally breathtaking... the property is definitely one of the best managed properties in north india... very tastefully designed... beautifully landscaped... with lots of greenery...

food was delicious.. resort staff was extremely helpful... did their best to make us feel like king and queen... even arranged a private dinner at their bar only for both of us at the slightest hint of my request... really enjoyed my holiday... would definitely come back as soon as i get some time!!

Propbaly the best property in mussoorie w.r.t to location, quality of staff and food, if one is looking for an home away from home. Surrounded by mountains and wallnut trees, the property takes you within the clouds with scenic view of mountains.
The staff were soft, polite and always at the servcie. Food was also gr8.
My family enjoyed thouroughly, especially my son.

thanks to arvind (the GM), Ravi for making our saty comfortable and holiday memorable.

Me and wife stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and 3 days. The following is our review:

Location: Awesome. You can get fabolous views of the valley while you sip your coffee in your room, or in the hotel restaraunt!!!

Service: Absolutely fantastic!! The team here surpassed all our expectations and were always available to help you at any occassion. What a wonderful experience.

Rooms: Each room has a balcony with a great view. The room is well equipped with chairs, nice bed, dressers, mini bar, safe, closet etc. The rooms were very clean and spotless.

Bathrooms: Very modern and the water pressure was very good. The wash basin and the toilets were very clean and modern.

Hotel Lounge Deck: fabolous. You can relax on the wooden deck with nice chairs, loungers. The staff will get you drinks or food!!! There is also a nice music system where you can connect your iphone/ipod or play your CD.

Game Room: A very good collection of games and nice music system where you can connect your iphone/ipod or play your CD. Me and my wife played carrom (Indian game), Crads etc.

Garden Lounge: Awesome garden where you can have tea/food etc

Internet: There is internet avaiable at the main desk. The speed at this hotel located in the mountains was faster than what I get in a 5 star hotel (Leela Kempinsky) that we have been living in for last 2 months!!!

SUMMARY: This was a very nice hotel and the service was excellent. We were very relaxed and enjoyed the stay. We will definetely recommend to friends and family.

This boutique hotel is 2 km north of Mall road. We stayed in Padmini Niwas on day 1 and were VERY disappointed with the general hygiene of the place so moved to Amber Vermont, which is only slightly more expensive. On reaching Amber, we were surprised to see how beautiful it was! All rooms in the hotel are beautiful and designed with great attention to detail. The staff is very friendly and stays true to the motto of the hotel, "Guest is King". In addition to the providing a very relaxing stay (the spa room, the deck and the cozy rooms give enough reason to just laze in the hotel all day), it has a lot of activities - arranges adventure sports trips, has a TV room, Table Tennis room, board games room and a pool table room, the windows of which open into the valley!
We had the most relaxing and enjoyable experience here and it was worth every penny we spent!

Room Tip: if you are travelling in a group (4 people or more), definitely stay in the suite which has cozy big...

Stayed at Amber Vermont in June 2011. Perhaps the only sane place in mussoorie during the summer holidays. Stayed in the family suite with 2 bed rooms and a living room. Great accommodation. The place is clean, though the staff can be trained a bit better. The deck has good views and provide a great sit down for a drink in the evening. Food can improve but all in all highly recommended for a stay in Mussoorie. Of course the assumption is you want to be away from the maddening crowd at Mall road.

P.s. The access road is a bit of a pain.

The Amber Vermont Estate is a boutique retreat in the Himalayas. Vermont Estate was originally built in the latter half of the 19th century by a Britisher and is one of the oldest estates in the Himalayan town of Mussoorie. It has been refurbished to retain the atmosphere of a traditional English cottage with the addition of modern amenities. The property is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Mussoorie. The location, and the mix of modern comfort, old English charm and personalized service make The Amber Vermont Estate a treasure in Mussoorie.
