This place is a true sanctuary in India. We'll definitely return the next time we visit the region.

We were in a bit of a bind with travel arrangements when we stayed there. The management team went above and beyond the call of duty, over several days, to help us arrange ongoing travel.

Our heart felt thanks. Well done.

initially while choosing this hotel we were little sceptic about hotel as its started just last year but we trusted on tripadvisor reviews and finally given try and to our surprise it exceed our expectation. Hotel staff sent pickup vehicle for us as presently work in progress near to hotel. when we reached there view of mountains was wonderful. Mr. Rawat suggested us best room - open from three side with great outside view.
Hotel has play area for childred, Badminton court, Billiard room, table tennis table.
Food quality was also nice and service was also prompt.
In Night staff arranged Fire in backside garden.
Hotel is perfect stay for those who want complete rest with nature.
Hotel also provides pickup and drop to Mall Road.

The Vermont: "Fantastic Service and very good property"
We stayed at the Vermont Resort for 2N/3D and were totally taken over by the warmth shown by the staff there. They took utmost care of all our needs (be it food, accommodation or anything for my 2 year old kid). They also arranged a fabulous candle light dinner, cake et all. In terms of pricing they were very reasonable and offered us loads of discount. The ambiance was cool with a mix of heritage and European class. The only hitch was the internet connectivity in the room was with very low signals. But then that was a minor issue and in totality the entire stay was quite memorable.

After looking the perfect spot for our two nights in Mussoorie, we settled on The Amber - Vermont Estate partly because it is on an old, Raj era property and partly because the rooms have recently be renovated. We chose the perfect spot. This lovely property is located slightly out of town with a 190 degree view of the foothills of the Himalayas - a breath taking sight from the terraces and balconies. The general manager, Arvind Rawat is a gem! He and his staff went out of their ways to make our stay memorable.

The hotel is a small, boutique style property housed in several separate buildings. Our room was on the 2nd floor of a 4 unit building. There were two such buildings with the remainder of the guestrooms located in the renovated main house. Our room had a balcony with wonderful views. The room was large and well furnished with a huge marble bathroom. As there is no central heating in most of India, we were given two space heaters and a couple of electric blankets to keep out the cold of February. They did the trick! In season there is a spa at the hotel.

The dining room is located in a separate building on a slightly lower level than the rooms. We had dinner both nights of our stay and the chef couldn't have been more accommodating. The food was excellent but the real treat was two different pastas cooked up for us by the general manager! (If you like wine with your dinner be sure to stop at the local liquor store in town - it is on the Mall road. Not much choice there but they did have a couple of drinkable Indian wines. If you are real picky be sure to stop at an English Wine Shop in Dehradun before making the trek up to Mussoorie.) The staff is happy to serve any of your meals on their pretty terrace with the fabulous views.

We were very happy with our short stay at The Amber - Vermont and would recommend it to anyone. It is excellent value for your money. The staff is really wants to please and they do!

My wife and me traveled to Mussoorie during January much against the advice of my friends who said it was the wrong month to go and it would be freezing cold . I guess that was the downside and it indeed was very cold in January . The good part of the trip was that Mussoorie was not as crowded and we stayed at the Amber Vermont Estate . The resort has an awesome view of the Himalayas unlike the other side of Mussoorie where you have a view of Dehradun . The service at was exceptional and we were treated like Royals . Food was excellent and we were totally pampered ( actually had to ask the staff to go slow) . The staff gave us their advice on what to see in & around on the tight 3 day schedule we had , offered options and help with travel arrangements. I must point out that since we went off-season there were only a few guests at the resort so I am unsure how they would handle a fully booked resort , but either ways I must give the Amber Vermont full marks on making our stay at Mussoorie memorable .

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Amber Vermont, Musoorie. It is a new and beautiful property with a fabulous view of the Himalayan ranges. The General Manager, Mr. Arvind Rawat, is a very resourceful and helpful person, who attends to his guests even before they actually check-in…by pro-actively calling up and helping with directions to the resort etc. The staff too is very courteous, helpful and make you feel at home – special thanks to Bhagat Singh, Sukhveer Singh and Ram Bachan. The meals served at the resort is extremely delicious and my family thoroughly enjoyed the same. When we visited the weather was extremely cold but the heaters and electric blankets in the room kept us warm and comfortable. The resort has a very beautiful deck and well appointed recreation room for table tennis, pool and a TV lounge. It also has a well equipped children’s outdoor play area. The autumn leaves strewn artistically in the pathways and garden give it a very romantic look. The resort provides complimentary drop and pick up services to the mall road which is very helpful but the shopping turned out to be very expensive!! We shopped so much one day that we left a bag of purchases at one of the various shops we visited and realized this only on our return to the room at about 8pm….and when we enquired for the contact number of the shop, that we guessed where we may have left the bag, Mr. Arvind Rawat without our knowledge, very kindly sent the hotel vehicle and driver Ram Bachan to the marketplace to try and find the same – you can imagine our joy and gratefulness on retrieval of the same!! A special heartfelt thanks to Mr. Rawat from my sister and I for this thoughtful gesture. I had read all the good reviews about Mr. Rawat and the property on Trip Advisor before visiting and I must say it was all true. We stayed at the Amber for 2 nights and it was just not enough….so we look forward to our next visit, hopefully soon.

The Amber Vermont Estate is a boutique retreat in the Himalayas. Vermont Estate was originally built in the latter half of the 19th century by a Britisher and is one of the oldest estates in the Himalayan town of Mussoorie. It has been refurbished to retain the atmosphere of a traditional English cottage with the addition of modern amenities. The property is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Mussoorie. The location, and the mix of modern comfort, old English charm and personalized service make The Amber Vermont Estate a treasure in Mussoorie. In the early 1800's, Vermont Estate was part of a grand estate called Logie Estate owned by the well-known Dr. Hugh Falconer. Dr. Falconer was a Scottish geologist, botanist, and paleontologist. He was the first to discover the remains of fossil mammals in the Siwalik Hills of India. In 1832, Falconer became the Superintendent of the Saharanpur Botanical Gardens, one of the oldest existing gardens in India. ... more   less
