We enjoyed the Hotel so much that we decided to stay in the Hotel for 2 whole days without venturing out. It is only after we check-out that we went sight-seeing.

Truly this hotel and its staff doesnt have NO in their dictionary. The property is an awesome Fort palace converted into a hotel. On check-in i was given an upgrade to a premium room, without asking for it. My room gave me a heavenly peep into the valley below and the surrondings. The constant appearance of mist and clouds and the peeping sun trying to shower some golden rays from amidst the clouds was a real treat to watch.

We didnt need an A/C here during summer time. That defines the place in general. The food was so awesome we did not have anything to ask for. Even when I gave feedback about certain food to the chef, they were so humble in taking it their way. In fact the very next morning, he repeated the dish for me in the way I had told him to make it.

Truly, this hotel deserves more stars than tripadvisor allows. :) I shall always prefer this place to any other everytime I visit mussoorie.

Room Tip: Take a premium room. Its awesome. With or without balcony.

Amazing property, amazing people, amazing food, amazing climate.

be it any department in the hotel (housekeeping, restaurant, security) Yes was the only word that I hear from them, even the demands that any other hotel of the same status would have refused they simply said yes and fulfilled it as well. They just pamper you till you get spoiled.

Room Tip: room on 6th floor and above.

I stayed there with family during the peak season in June. The hotel has recently been taken over by the Royal Orchid chain and it seems the change has been for good. We had booked four rooms (two duplex family rooms and two Premium rooms with terrace). We had done advance booking.

We had to choose between Jaypee Residency Manor (JRM) and Royal Orchid. The newness of the hotel and room decor clinched the deal in favour of Royal Orchid. The rooms looked better, spacious and more comfortable than JRM. We went for this hotel even though the property is not as big as JRM. Otherwise the location of the hotel is fine, you get good views from the balconies.

Washrooms however left a lot to be desired - No Shaving mirror, toiletries were of very bad quality (not usable at all!!!), shower mixer did not work properly (water temperature would swing from hot to cold to hot....we had this problem in all the four rooms), no bathtubs even in premium rooms/duplex. Though the fittings were modern, but overall the washrooms did not match up to the rooms. Having said that they were not too bad either, they just did not live up to our expectations given that its a 4 star property.

Food quality was very good. Though they need more variety in bakery and desserts.

I would like to mention the name of Rahul Sharpe, Front office manager for excellent service.

Room Tip: Duplex rooms are nice and spacious if you want kids to stay with you in the room One of the rooms...

Let’s get things straight here this hotel is in a wonderful spot however I was unprepared for how busy this area is. It is not a relaxing area to go to swamped with stuck up people who let their horrible little children run riot in the public areas. I realise that it’s a retreat from the heat of the big city but noting prepares you for how this has ruined what must have been a magical area. My partner booked this hotel thinking it was a 5 star but when we arrived found it was a 4 and a poor one at that I give it a 3 at best. No pool, no bar, no alcohol not even a hot tub. Food was very poor and not covered, the only thing covering the food were flies. There was a TV blaring in the restaurant, I really don’t think this is appropriate were you are dinning. Rooms OK but not air conditioned my window was held open by a stick. In my view one to be avoided

Long way to go in Guest satisfaction and services. Poor administration, apathetic attitude, total collapse of restaurant services. Premium rooms opening into lobby and overlooking a park -- felt like living in the middle of mall road. Not worth the money it demands.
Yes, but the views were exotic and housekeeping staff prompt.

Room Tip: Do not take a premium room on 7th floor
