The hotel was carrying out some external rennovations - so the hotel was not very neat. Staff was not very helpful. Breakfast was extremely basic. Once the hotel is completed with its rennovations it would be lovely but until then would not recommend this to anyone.

This was a good decent hotel according to a small city like mathura and value for money. Since this city caters mostly holy tourists hence one cant expect better than this. Went with family for a day for darshan. Also located is good near to national highway.

Good location, off the highway and surrounded by much better hotels including the Best western. Its divided into a vegetarian and a non-vegetarian wing-stayed at the latter.
Large hotel, average lobby with indifferent staff at the front desk.
The room was small with peeling plaster and seepage everywhere with a noisy Air Conditioner.
The room service was poor. The menu for in room dining was large but most things were not available. The food was average and the service slow and unwilling. These guys obviously did not go to a hotel management school.
The conference hall was small with poor audio-visuals and seating arrangements. Skip this hotel for your trip unless there are some overwhelming compulsions.

Excellent place to stay with tasty and hygienic food, better room service, pleasing receptionists, spacious and elegant rooms. Our U. S. based family members were also pleased with the cleanliness of rooms and hygienic food of its restaurant. Situated some what far from the main city gives quiet and cool experience. In all it was a great experience at holy city Mathura.

We had a harrowing 1 hour stay at the Wingston.

The owner didn't like my brother sitting on some kid's swings and pointed this out to him, without even identifying himself. Then the guard came up, and subsequently, both of them proceeded to manhandle him and in the process, broke his mobile phone.

I went downstairs to reason out with the owner. We sat in the hotel lobby and as his reason, he tells me that "your brother does not have etiquettes, so I straightened him out"! I was like what? For some time I just couldn't believe what he said. Then I told him that please make me understand, and let's be patient and reasonable. But on the contrary, he started shouting on us. In the fit of anger, he told us that we could leave his property if we wanted.

But ... surprise surprise .. when we tried to leave, the manager of the hotel wouldn't let me go without the payment for the room, which I completely refused to make (I had been in the hotel for barely an hour and in the process felt insulted). To the point that the manage blocked my way, and was being physical. He tried to snatch my luggage and was actually holding my arm so that I couldn't leave. All this was happening at their front gate! At that point I got very angry and threatened to call the police. Only then did the owner let us go.

The room I stayed in was nothing to write home about. It was a small, below-average room and we were being charged Rs. 3,500/- for that room. But since there were a lot of marriages happening in that area and we could not find any other room there, we had decided to to settle for this one.

Over all, it was a very bad experience. After that we checked into the suite at the Best Western property across the road from there, which is an excellent place to stay, with very courteous staff.
