This guesthouse was an amazing place to stay. Varanasi is a really hectic, crowded and dirty place and this guesthouse gave you a chance for total relax from that outside world. The common area is very beautiful, with a fountain, flowers and plants everywhere and the rooms are clean. Is has an excellent view to the riverside and main ghats and great roof top restaurant with even better view. Staff is very friendly and helpful and it feels like you are one big family in there :-) I can't imagine any better place to stay in Varanasi.

Room Tip: It is really worth to pay a bit more to have a room facing the river side for a great view!

1. Lobby of this guest house looks peaceful, good decoration with Hindu and Buddhism arts.
2. Staffs are so friendly and active.
3. The room I stayed at Ganpati home is comfortable and has colorful decoration. There are 3-4 plugs in one room, that's plenty.
4. While I was taking a shower about 5 am. I heard somebody's Hindu praying voice outside nearby the windows, I love that.
5. Restaurant on roof top is ok, very good view.
6. This guest house has good location. You can walk about 7-10 minutes to Dashashwamedh Ghat where you can watch Ganga Arti ceremony after sunset, and walk about 5 minutes to Manikarnika Ghat (the burning ghat).

When you go to Manikarnika Ghat, please beware of the touts and scams for donations, do not believe anyone who invite you to see cremation from on the building nearby the ghat, you may stuck with scams for donations there.

It's a bit scary the maze of streets one has to cross in order to get here, but once there, i can tell you it's the best place to experience this amazing city.
The rooms are not luxurious, but clean and colorful, and the central yard is nice and refreshing. But the best is the rooftop overlooking the river, in a very central location, but still away enough from all the crowds. it is perfect for small walks around, and whenever you need a break just go back to the rooftop and still enjoy the city.
The restaurant wasn't that great.
There is free Wi-Fi in the lobby.

stayed two nights there. Ganpati GH has a greate location and its roottop resturant has a greate view. If I have to say something evil of it, they are slow WIFI speed...too many steps from Ghat...sometime power outage....

This is a very good hotel / guest house in exceptional location along the ghats on the Ganges.

Rooftop restaurant served good food and had tremendous views both upi and down the river - addeing to our sense of being in the middle of things. Major ghats in both directions along the river were within short walking distance.

We had a room with a verandah and a swinging chair looking over the river. Nicely decorated and secure.

The free train pick-up was great too as the guesthouse is not easy to find for those who have not been there before. Wel sign posted from the river though.

Breakfast at the rooftop restaurant was a great start to the day.

WIFI was good enough to video skype.

Room Tip: River view - though you do pay for this....
