Blue lassi is a great place to stop and enjoy the delicious lassi. I would recommend a pomegranite and banana lassi.
Staff lovely and helped us out with our directions.

“Unimpressive”
Reviewed January 19, 2014

We had plain lassi in several places in Varanasi and this was our least favorite. The best one was at a place near the Thethri bazaar college with no name.
The ONLY thing going for blue lassi is that they have a place for tourists to sit down while they quaff down their beverage.
Summary: totally overrated. Ask the locals where to get better lassi.

Enjoyed a banana coconut and ape coconut lassi. It was worth venturing out in the pouring rain for them!

“Tourist Type Place in the Best of Ways”
Reviewed January 18, 2014

Note: This is not a restaurant per se as it only serves lassi drinks. (Is a place that only serves coffee and tea a ‘restaurant’ or is it a coffee shop?) If the Blue Lassi were under the Trip Advisor section for “Attractions” of Varanasi, I would give it a 5 because, in that sense, it is an amazing experience. That is the reason for the lack of a 5th star under “restaurant;” the 4 stars is more of a reflection about Trip Advisor lumping all places for food and refreshments under one category than it is a comment about the Blue Lassi.

The location is basically up above the main cremation ghat of
Manikarnika, in the warren of small streets. You will not find it on your own without looking for and then following the blue lettered directions, which are painted on numerous walls. Look for them! That’s part of the adventure here!

The establishment is quite small; there is limited seating. The Lassi Guru (maker) is the guy sitting in the window, lotus style. The street scene right in front of him will be noisy or sacred or chaotic or touching or raw, by Westerner standards, all within just a few minutes. That in itself makes it a great place to go just for sitting back and taking-it-all-in.

The lassi’s are THE MOST varied, eclectic, far ranging ones that exist in the world. You can have a plain lassi or a banana-coffee-blueberry-chocolate lassi or a pineapple-apple-pine nut lassi. You pick. Served in a clay pot, they are exquisite and are eaten, not sucked through a straw. Get one for breakfast or two for an almost perfect light lunch.
