Dashashwamedh Ghat is the main ghat in Varanasi on the Ganges River. It is located close to "Vishwanath Temple" and is probably the most spectacular ghat. Two Hindu mythologies are associated with it: According to one, Lord Brahma created it to welcome Lord Shiva. According to another legend, Lord Brahma sacrificed ten horses during Dasa -Ashwamedha yajna performed here.

Go there before sunset and enjoy the crowd, the faded lights and the Pooja ceremony. Avoid the boats where tourists assemble and mingle with the locals and pilgrims on the banks

Dashawamed ghat is most popular ghat of Varansi. You should avail a boat ride from here along Ganges river.Must not miss the Arati(prayer) held every evening from about 6 to 8.30 pm.

Your visit to Kashidham (Varanasi) will be incomplete if you miss Dasaswamedh Ghat. Situated besides Kashi Vishwanath Temple, this place captures the true spirit of Varanasi. You may take a boat ride to see different ghats of Kashi stretching over more than a kilometer on either side of the ghat. In order to have a dip in the Ganges, take a boat (cost around Rs. 150.00 for full boat) and go to the other side the river as the water is clean there. However, the most interesting experience will be to watch Ganga Aarati in the evening from the boat. It takes around an hour or so.

Just 3 minutes from main ghat, you can reach to Shitala ghat and Ahalya Bai ghat.
Indeed, these 3 ghats are one.
They have Daily Ganga puja at Dashashwmedh Ghat and Ahalya Bai Ghat.
And you can easily find Sita Mandir near the steps of Ahalya Bai. This red mandir is for Indian people, but nobody refuse you.

After Ganga arathi puja, you can assist puja for Sita, who is wife of sri Rama, you know.
It is very beautifle, the arathi song is different lylic(but same melody)
If you want to know more and more about Hindu and Indian people, just go!
