“Aarti Ceremony”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

I think Varanasi has a very good vibes of India. If you walk around the city, its fully crowded and you can feel how loud the city is, and that is how you feel if you are in India. When you are in Varanasi, you gotta visit the ganges river and the most famous ghat there was Dasaswamedh Ghat, where India people held the Aarti Ceremony, everyday at around 5.45 pm until like 7.30ish. There will be a lot of people joining this ceremony, from local people to even nat-geo photographers. Its like a football match, so many people watching, sitting around this ghat.

You can see some ritual fire dance along side the river and they sing from the start till the end of ceremony. They say that this ritual is for one of their Gods, named Shiva. Its very beautiful. While the ceremony is held you can roam around and find sadhu people, which are dressed like monk with big mark of Shiva on their foreheads. You can take a photo with them, some of them will ask you money though.

Maybe you would like to try the ritual, you can go to the temple at the ghat and follow their ritual. But of course you need to carefully follow the ritual, we don't want to disgrace their ritual. But they are open for you to join in.

I think its a very fun and energetic city. I recommend you to stay like for 2 night at least to feel all the vibes and do all the activities. You can rent a boat to sail around the ganges river if you want to.

“Very Interesting”

That's where the main ceremony happens every day at 7pm... All boats stop and we all watch it from the river... It's very worthy to go see it...

“Water at the ghats”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

If you are planning a trip to Benares, you can visit the Kashi Viswanath temple. Though it very crowded, owing to Shravan month, getting a darshan is not very difficult. Just don't go with your own vehicle. And the ghats are a disappointment, with ganga swelling and water righht till the edge. You can't see the ganga arti and can't take a boat ride in the holi ganga.
