I was here on new years eve and drank some tea with Vishnu and bought some nice spices that I now use to make the classic Chai Masala tea at home now. Anyways, after drinking some tea with Vishnu, he called in Russian to some passerbys and they came in. It was a couple from Russia that now live in the Himalayas. I struck up a conversation with the Russians and we hung out for 4 hours. We rang in the new year together on the banks of the river Ganges under fireworks and talked all night, what a night, what an experience. You never know what will happen if you are curious and open to new experiences.

It's obvious that Vishnu cares a lot about his business and the comfort of his customers. His tea is great and he's insistent that you drink a cup before purchasing. He loves to talk about all of his friends all around the world and probably knows someone from wherever you come from. We purchased his Masala spices and Kashmiri Green Tea. We particularly loved the green tea. He even gave us a postcard to take with us as a token of his appreciation for our business. It's near the Main Ghat- he won't let you forget to come by and have a cup!

Me and my boyfriend entered in Vishnu tea emporium for a short time and finally stayed quite longer then we expected! The tea was good and Vishnu was also very nice and welcoming with us, we felt quite relaxed just being there and enjoying the tea. We noticed as we entered that Vishnu was not the type of guy to put pressure so you buy any of his products, so you can just sit there quietly and enjoy the delicious masala mix for chai while having a chat with the owner Vishnu. He has very much knowlege about Varanasi and he can speak very fluently french or other languages. You should stop by and have a cup of tea because it's the best place to be ;)

Vishnu is a pleasant and helpful young man who is functional in a number of languages and is always happy to share his broad & detailed knowledge of Varanasi. I would recommend at least sitting in for a cup of chai and getting to know him and his shop early in one's stay here: both as an information resource and for a wide array of spices, teas & scents at fair, fixed prices.

Vishnu tea emporium is a small and quiet place near main gate and his owner Vishnu is really a good guy who take his time to explain and to propose to taste his different kinds of tea :green from Darjeeling or Cachemire, black or massala with the special mix you can find in his shop.A great moment for me in Varanasi,i recommand you to visit, you can trust Vishnu he doesn't pressure you to buy anything and it s the place to be quiet and relax, and it can be unusual in this incredible city...
