We took a tuk-tuk to Festive Villa and enjoyed a long lunch sitting out on the verandah overlooking the Ganges. The food & service were excellent - we opted for the middle eastern food, simply delicious. A great place to escape to if you are staying near one of the busier ghatts

Our group of 19 stumbled across the Festive Villa during our trekking through India and what a find. The whole family is involved whether it be cooking, massages, henna, local knowledge and tour ideas. We dropped in for a cold drink and they couldn't do enough for us, organizing sunset river cruise down the Ganges and a shopping tour to the local Silk factories. They cooked us a beautiful curry for dinner and an amazing breakfast. Some of the girls got henna upstairs while others had very satisfying massages, not to mention the beautiful view. Highly recommend if in Varanassi.

We were on an organised tour and asked our guy to organise some henna out of the sun. It turned out to be a member of the family behind Festive Villa.

We sat on the balcony upstairs having our henna done enjoying a beautiful banana lassi and overlooking the Ganges. While one of our group enjoying an amazing massage for an amazing price & the rest of us poured over the menu and drooled as food arrived from the kitchen downstairs.

I had the malai kofta & missi roti. The missi roti was fantastic and while the malai kofta was a bit sweet for me it was still nice. The others has maglooba, falafel plate, and aloo matta.

After lunch we chatted with Kajal the owner's sister who told us about the food kitchen she runs at dawn for the local poor. Kajal is also available foe work as a tour guide for hire across India when you would like a female local guide who speaks Hindi, English & French/Creole

Oh and there is free WIFI as well.

Overall a great place to chill out, enjoy the hubbub of Varanasi from a comfy vantage point.

This restaurant is the only place we found to have a decent meal for a fair price . The lady who runs it is Ms chunnu Singh -she her brother and her nephew were all very friendly and helpful.
The service was good and the food was tasty. Cleanliness was not up to the mark, specially where the waiters were concerned!
it was really nice having a chat with them and gathering information as we hardly came across english speaking people.
I wish them all the best and hope to visit them again if ever I go to Varanasi again!
