Aashray is off the beaten track, a 50 rupee rickshaw ride or 100 rupee Tuc-Tic ride from the ghats, but you may be glad for the peace and quiet (when there's not a wedding party near by!)
Only two rooms are available, no wi-fi or TV, but very well furnished, good hot shower, and clean. Mrs Kapoor's cooking is wonderful, so even if you just have her breakfast you will be full and happy.
If you have time, do spend it with the Kapoors. They are a wonderful, refined and educated couple who will keep you entertained with their conversation. Many people think the real Indian experience can be found in a cheap backpackers' hostel by the Ganges, but unless you enjoy sliding around in cow dung, and swapping stories with other foreigners, the true experience is to be had with the Kapoors.More
