“Great History”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2012

This is a place that is quiet and tranquil reminds you of a turmoil that happened about 155 years ago. Magnificent place, only if you have some knowledge about the events of 1857. There is a place that you can visit to read books of this event in ind ngar of Lucknow, only if you are lucky to get an appointment. Residency in Lucknow is a must see for any traveller, specially if you are from UK or of course India too.

“British Raj”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2012

This area contains the ruins of the erstwhile British Residency but currently this seems to be the favourite spot of love lorn couples who are to be found in every nook and cranny of this place.
A brief history is also found in the marble plaques on the ruins.

“Delightfully delapidated”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2012

Steeped in a sad history, the grounds and ruins of the residency offer a welcome respite from the fast paced city of Lucknow beyond its walls, and it is touching on a Sunday to be able to share it with the many courting couples who likely have few better places to go. No-one bothers you and you can wander at will - and take a guide if you choose.

History buffs will love this area as it is abundant with historical relics and the overall ambiance is heartwarming, all though it has a sad history
