Right form the start we knew staying here was a bad idea!..

The complimentary pick up at the train station - IS A SCAM!!!...we called 2 times the

day before arriving to confirm the room and a pick up car - and was told not to worry they know we are coming also a car will be waiting.

On our way to Agra we called reception to let them know we were arriving at the station in 15 mins x 2 times - no answer, we called the cell phone that was given to us x 2 times and no one answered...we arrived at the station no one was there!...OK - so we caught a taxi! when we arrived i asked where our taxi was - the guys behind the counter look said it all "WHAT TAXI"!!!!....

Told to wait in reception as our room was not ready - we did...and in the 15 mins of waiting we witnessed 2 customers complaining to the man behind the counter about the hot water / geyser in the room they have not working...after looking some what baffled (like he did when i asked about our COMPLMENTAR TAXI)... the guy behind the counter told them to fill in a complaint book...but the couple didn't want to complain they wanted it fixed.!(lost in translation)

So here we were sitting in reception - thinking the other people around us were guests...NO - HELLO - they are workers stilling around - obviously none of which was a plumber...he he he

So we went to our room - ground floor - clean, but noisy as right out side i guess the grounds men like to hang about our window..

The room service here was ok - but confusing as trying to figure out who was an employee and who was a guest - is a game they like to play i think...even trying to figure out who was the manager and who was the cook was a hassle!

Pay more money stay else where!

This hotel was fairly inexpensive compared to international chain hotels in Agra, but it wasn't a very nice place to stay. I definitely did not get a "homestay" feel. The front desk would not allow us to keep our room key when we left our rooms, there were large numbers of different men on the staff, some of whom slept in the lobby, and the room was dark and dingy. After booking a driver through the hotel (it cost twice what we had paid on a previous visit through another hotel), we were picked up in a much smaller car that had extremely dirty upholstery and smelled awful. My husband had to fight for a half an hour with the manager to get the car that we had paid for. The room was clean-ish. The blanket looked like it hadn't been washed in about 10 years, and the sheets looked, but did not smell clean. One of the most disappointing things was the hot water. I allowed the geyser (hot water heater) to heat for 35 minutes (the instructions said 20 was sufficient), and had a nice warm shower for about 20 seconds, before the water turned ice cold. My husband also had to fight with the manager to allow us to check out early in the morning to visit the Taj Mahal for sunrise. The manager insisted that it was better to go at 9:00, and didn't want to let us make our own plan. The hotel was liveable for a night if you need a cheap place to stay in Agra, but I wouldn't recommend it and wouldn't go back. I would highly recommend instead the Garden Villa Homestay, which was comfortable, welcoming, sparkling clean, and had hot water.

We did not feel very welcome in this bed and breakfast. We booked via internet and a free pick-up from the railway was promised by mail. There was no pick-up. We never got an apologize. They told us that this was because we booked via internet and the promise was made by someone else (?). When we left we asked if they could bring us to the railwaystation as a kind of service, but that was no option, we had to pay 100 rs for a 5 minutes ride. When we arrived they said that breakfast not included but when we said that that is a kind of strange at a bed and breakfast they started smiling... (nice try). Our room was clean but had no window. We paid 1400 rs, we think it is too much for this kind of basic room. Staff was pushy about using their riksja service. We asked if we could get a late check-out because our train left at 11.30 pm but that was very difficult. They had to ask and call and finaly they proudly let us know that it was possible if we paid 1400 rs...

Hello, I'm single traveller and travel agent in Spain. I booked this small nice and familiar hotel for my stay in Agra. The hotel was rated two stars, but I was suprised about the impeccable cleanliness of all the areas, including the rooms and of whole comfort I felt staying there, comparing many other hotels of the same range category. The saff is very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are clean and beds very comfortable. The shower is working proprely. In the hotel there is one computer with speed internet connection (with charge) and if you are carring your own pc, you can have wirless access. Food is good.
The hotel is lcoated near the main station of Agra Cantt and in a quiet area.
I will definitely recommend you this hotel for your stay in Agra. Good price/quality.
Enjoy your stay.

We stayed 2 nights in a clean, comfortable, quiet and large room on the ground floor in this house. Not expensive (€ 40 per night) for Agra which is very expensive as far as lodging is concerned. You will need a driver to visit Taj Mahal, Red Fort, Metab Bagh, etc. since Agra is a large city. You can hire one in the guest house. Breakfast was correct.

Taj home stay the best in Agra, the owners and all staff are friendly and attentive and will offer lots of advice on things to do and see and how best to go about it. The food is delicious. You will get a good nights sleep here too as its out of the hustle and bustle of Agra but still close enough to be in the city within minutes to see all the sights. All in all highly recommended and fantastic value for money too.
