“very good hotel”
Reviewed June 19, 2012

i stayed here for only 1 night.I was satisfied by the rooms and service. The staff was very polite and good. The food was very good but i was disappointed by the food at some point because when i was having my food, hair were coming in the food. But the service was up to mark.Overall it was a good stay.

Room Tip: eat your food a bit carefully as it may have hair in it

Nice spacious clean rooms, very plain and slightly dated. Only a short distance away from the Taj Mahal so convenient in that respect. Swimming pool around the side of the hotel was excellent but suffered from fallen leaves that needed to be skimmed off the surface regularly. We stayed two nights, the first night we eat in and enjoyed an excellent meal and the following night we eat out which was not nearly as good. Breakfast is buffet style and is a little bland but the coffee was good. Laundry service was excellent and the price was more respectable than those of the New Delhi hotels. It's a good choice for visiting the Taj, less than impressed with Agra itself due to the amount of rubbish left on the streets. Very popular with Chinese, European tour groups.

It is so old. You should pay for every thing, even regular water, sandals, internet and so on. It was not clean, too.

This is a nice hotel. It is a bit dated and this shows, particularly in the guest rooms, but the staff are attentive and the service is very good - buffet breakfast was great. As with many travellers our sole reason for including Agra in our India trip was to experience the Taj Mahal so we only stayed one night in Agra and therefore ate dinner at the hotel. Even if you do not choose to stay at the Clarks Shiraz, the restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Food was wonderful and service very good.

A bit of a facelift would go a long way to making this hotel very special.

Nice, big hotel near the Taj Mahal. We had a twin room with view to a courtyard and a poor monkey a roof top who could not move due to his leash. Our room was well equiped with Flat-TV, safe, air conditioned and tee making facility. It seemed to be new renovated but not the tube and the closet. Dinner was served at a large and unpersonal dining hall. Quality of food ok, but not much variety, escpecially not the indish one. Breakfast was served in the rooftop restaurant and selection of food was gread and staff very friendly.

Lovely hotel about 5 minutes drive from the taj mahal. Swimming pool ok but quite small. Rooms lovely, spacious, free safety deposit box and tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast great, cereal, fruits, fry up, toast, an egg station. Juice and tea and coffee. All staff lovely and friendly. Bar ok but pricey.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with views of the taj mahal.

My boyfriend and I stayed here in late March 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was getting pretty hot by the time we made it to Agra and the hotel really was an oasis with its nice swimming pool and air conditioning. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed a beautiful breakfast buffet each morning. Our take on Agra was that it was worth spending a little more to enjoy a great level of comfort given that it's extremely hot, crowded and pretty filthy!
