“Memorable Stay”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

A very good property which is well managed and quite near the Taj Mahal. Newly built, it has well appointed rooms and very friendly, courteous staff. We spent only 1 night here but enjoyed our stay. The rooms are big and quite well planned. Regarding food, we enjoyed our dinner at this hotel but the complimentary breakfast spread was not so good. The staff though are most eager to help and since it is a new hotel, service is excellent. They seem determined to make your stay as comfortable as possible and I hope they maintain the same standards in future too. Some teething troubles remain, as is common in any new property, but I am sure that it will be sorted out as they gain experience. The staff also informed us that the hotel is in the process of adding a Bar and a Swimming Pool. I would certainly recommend this hotel for your stay in Agra.

This seems to be a newly built hotel very near to the TDI mall, Its closeness to the Taj east gate helped us in having an easy entry. The night visit to Taj also was through the same gate so it was a bonus for me. The complementary break fast was like buffet hence aided us in choosing the good ones out. The fully equipped bar in the room triggers many.

The interiors of the hotel were done up well. Seems to be newly built so everything was neat and clean. It was also close to the Taj (east gate ) . Staff were helpful. Food however was average especially breakfast.

We typically travel on a budget but decided to splurge while staying in Agra, this hotel is almost twice what we normally spend. What a mistake and waste of money. In 3 months of travel throughout SE Asia, we have never encountered so many problems as we have staying at this hotel. After check in, we were unpacking and getting settled in, then realized the toilet didn't flush. So they switched us to another room... Ok no worries, we packed up and moved into another room. After a couple hours, we heard a loud gurgling noise coming from the new bathroom, the shower drain was "coughing" up soapy water, a lot of it. So once again we had to pack up and switch rooms. Ok no worries. Finally in the third room, we're trying to relax, pull back the comforter and realized the sheet and pillowcases are terribly pilled up, making them extremely scratchy, not to mention the bed was missing the top sheet. At this point we're just over it and planned to leave the next day.

We inquired the front desk about booking train tickets, which they said yes they book tickets no problem. But when it actually came time to book them, they just dialed a travel agency number and put me on the phone to book them myself, which it quickly became clear it was impossible, due to the language barrier. Frustrated with the struggle of speaking to a travel agent over the phone, I said forget it and went out to another hotel where they were more than happy to book our tickets quickly and easily.

Back at the hotel I'm looking forward to a nice hot shower, but no luck, only got cold water. Called the front desk to inquire, apparently the "hot water on demand" means you have to call and request them to turn on the boiler before showering. Thankfully we did get hot water after about an hour. I should also mention we had hope to take a break from the typical wet-room but this was not it. The shower appears separated but poorly designed as the water streams down the short shower curtain all over the floor, and hello wet-room!

This hotel does have lovely large windows but don't plan on enjoying any views, as they are blocked by the neighbor buildings a few yards away. In the main photo, it appears the hotel is standing free and clear of other buildings, not so.

As for wifi, it is fast, so that was one positive. However, you have to request the username and password repeatedly, as wifi use is only good for 2 hour blocks of time, so if you work online while traveling, being automatically logged out every two hours while trying to work is a bit frustrating.

At a glance the rooms look modern and comfortable, but when it comes to function, it seems to be just a facade, it really has a lot of kinks to work out. Which I believe they should fix before commanding the prices they do. You don't get much for your money here.

Just ended a stay at the Taj Vilas for 2 nights. We stayed in a suite room which offered 'a view'. The view was in fact an area of disused land which contained lots of rubbish and building material. Needless to say we kept the curtains closed!!

The hotel has some positives, it's close to the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort it's clean and it was relatively cheap.

During our stay we did however find some negatives, firstly the wifi - it is not available in all areas as advertised. We could not connect in our room or in the dining room. The other annoying thing was you keep having to go to reception to get a printed code every couple of hours to log back on! Secondly, we had very limited hot water and when the water did run down the drains (either from sink or shower) there was an awful sewage stench which remained in the room for the rest of our stay.

The hotel is relatively new so the rooms are of a good standard but there is still an extremely strong smell of paint throughout the hotel as they are still completing odd jobs here and there.

There is a dining room and we ate here twice. The first time we tried some curry which was ok, the descriptions of the foods on the menu don't match what you are served and they don't have many of the dishes on the menu for example saffron rice was just boiled white rice and we asked for meat off the bone but that didn't happen. The
Peshwari naan was a garlic naan with sugar sprinkled on it etc..we ate some of it and it was ok but the same happened again on our next visit so we decided not to bother again.

The day before we left we asked for a taxi to be arranged at 6am. When we arrived at the desk at 6am no taxi was there and when prompted they acknowledged us but instead of ordering the taxi as promised they were more interested in us signing the guest book!! When prompted again a taxi was called and 45 minutes after our planned departure we were able to leave meaning we got caught up in traffic (which we were trying to avoid by leaving early!) and were late to our next destination!!

Overall a reasonable budget hotel but if visiting Agra again we would look elsewhere because of the issues stated.

So close to Taj Mahal.

The rooms are modern, wifi is fast, food is delicious. The staff are the best thing about this hotel, along with the comfiest bed in the world!

It was pleasant day and I and my Wife has just entered into new life. The warm welcome which i get from the staff was extremely awesome. We stayed for a night but the treatment which we get was a royal treatment. The Hotel Staff is to good and the manager is awesome who looked after our needs. The food was really good. As the hotel is new and every thing is too good, rooms are effectively bigger than the size i was expecting.
In one Line - Luxury in cheap for couple to spend a quality life.
