We arrived in Agra on the early morning train with our backpacks in tow. This was a cheap ($6) option so we could stow our bags in a (relatively) safe place, have a snack and take a shower before we caught the evening train for our overnight trip to Jaipur.
All things considered, Hotel Sheela served it's purpose for us but I would definitely not stay there overnight for two reasons: 1) The incessant hawkers on the street outside the hotel - you can't walk 5 steps without a crowd of vendors approaching you and following you halfway down the road. This is not a property where you want to sit around and chill, so you are definitely going to be walking outside a lot to go somewhere else. 2) The windows seemed like they would let in a lot of creepy crawly or flying insects once the sun goes down. I could be wrong but I'm not willing to take that chance!
(There is not much to see in Agra other than the Taj and the fort, so in order to save time, we opted to take an overnight train to Jaipur rather than stay in Agra overnight.)More
