Taj Mahal is obviously one of the "must-see-places" right up there with the pyramids of Giza and Ankor Wat. The roads around the monument are closed off to traffic and little golf carts transport people who don't want to walk the last kilometre or so. We were recommended to arrive at sunset and even then there was a long line of people waiting to go through the security check. They don't let you bring anything other than a small camera inside, and you have to leave anything else you have with you in one of the shops across the street. My husband had to leave a small tripod he carried in his camera bag and had to pay a fee to the shop for looking after it. (We were at the Eastern Gate).
