“taj shining”
Reviewed July 18, 2013

I was @ this international heritage monumental wonder for the second time the last time i was there in april 2000. a lot has changed and well organised in the last 12 yrs lots of hotels have come up on the outskirts of the monument, place only around taj is well kept with wide roads etc but the approach road is the same old agra with traffic, dirt & garbage all along the approach road. well regarding taj it is now well maintained & well kept than what it was a decade back. there are lot of indian guides with foreign accent describing the history of taj. indians and foreigneers have diffrent rate of admission so they are preffered lot. this has to be agreed that due to its inclusion in the un nation it has to maintain the international standards of cleanliness which is put in to practise atleast to some extent. on should atleast see the taj atleast once as we are fortunate that one of the wonders is in india something to be proud of.

“A wonder”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

It really is spectacular. The only criticism I have is that it looks exactly what I expected it to - there wasn't a real element of surprise or "better than expected". That said, it was what I had expected which is tremendous.

Get there early for best photos and fewest crowds. Also, visit the nearby Agra Fort for an incredible view of the Taj Mahal.

“Indeed a wonder of the world”
Reviewed July 17, 2013 via mobile

This place is a must visit once for possible travellers.
The beauty, intelligence and techniques used behind in making it is awesome and unbelievable specially when it was made 400years ago.

So much thought, finesse behind it makes one wonder how they managed.

Suggested to take a tour guide since it helps in better understanding and best time to go is early morning or late evening to avoid the extreme heat.

Golf cars help to reach the main entrance as it's 1km Frm ticket point and charges inr 10/person for Indians and entry 20/person

For foreign tourist inr 750/per person including water/free transfers.

“What can I say...? It's the Taj Mahal!”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

Honestly, it looks exactly like the pictures. It was okay, perhaps it's best to see it at the start of your trip, before you get sick of seeing forts and mosques and temples and tombs and the like, every. single. day. Otherwise, lovely. It was worthwhile getting up at 5 and getting there at 5.30 to avoid the crowds and get that famous picture in front of the long pool. Although going in high summer, the sun doesn't rise anywhere interesting and make the Taj glow, so there might be a better time of year for that. I saw a vulture and that was the most exciting part of the day. Oh and I thought I saw Jerry from Parks and Recreation. But I didn't. Let down.

“Is it really the 7th wonder of the world ???”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

I had been there during my childhood, but hardly remembered anything & after so many years recently had been there to show my foreign guest. On the first sight it was exciting, voww I am seeing the world's 7th wonder. But then as we went inside, had a look thoroughly, the final feeling was like "okay, it was nothing so outstanding". May be just the story behind it is exciting. The marbles have really turned yellow now.
